After looking around for videos on how to disassemble and rebuild my specific transfer case, only to find that most were newer or older I decided to make this video.

Thank you for taking the time to make this. I appreciate all you people who do this. I have a 2003 suburban the pump plate wore a hole in the side housing. Going to get a used tcase from a salvage yard to use while we rebuild my original. Wasn't sure what I was going to get into... They probably aren't exactly the same, but most likely close. Thank you!

There's a video here that addresses just that scenario... look for it.

Hey there, do you think it would be possible to add transfer case fluid from the sensor hole on the tail of that transfer case? I have the same transfer case and the fill hole is completely destroyed to my dismay.

No pump knock/slap? Most videos I have watched make a big deal about the pump moving back and forth and cutting grooves in the case, is/was yours ok? I have a 220K Tahoe with a noisy tcase I plan on rebuilding. Thanks for the time and trouble you went to making the video, I appreciate it.

I have the 1999 Suburban K1500 with Auto 4wd. I was going to change my fluid out this weekend, but my 246 has no drain plug. It has a fill plug, but not drain plug. Weird.

The ratcheting it noise is the chain jumping teeth on the gears.

Putting a magnet by the oil pump pickup is a engineer screw up glue a flat magnet under the shift linkage and you have to put a piece of tubing under the pickup to spend the pickup

Hey Guy, I saw your 6.2 diesel video, I am having problems in getting all of the tubing and wiring to get it to work. Do you have a video where you can show how to connect the components.

ARTEMIO PALOS that was about ten years ago. No other videos and I don’t have any 6.2’s laying around.
@artemiopalos66274 жыл бұрын
@@shthappens78 I do have have an extra 6.2 laying around, sort of, it is on a engine stand. I would like to rebuild it, but I am not sure exactly where to start. I do know that the injection pump has to be rebuilt or replaced. Let me know what you recommend.

You should check the ring & pinion components first. The vibrations transmit noise the middle. Front or back it doesn't matter.

So I was unable to get it to sit above the groove I found a second set of hands to just hold the snap ring open when I lifted and it came off. Also you have to remove the speed sensors

ya learned the hard way about removing the speed sensors

How did you remove it from the transmission, can't figure out a way to pull it and have enough space to do so. Would really appreciate if you can tell me. Regards, Kevin.

CHiP support the transmission and remove all support brackets and mounts.

Did you remove the torsion bar key and torsion bar mount?

You have to drop the cross-member. After you unbolt the rear drive-train mount.

I’m not really getting why this video is called “1999 NP Transfer Case Disassembly”? I don’t remember one bolt, gear, bearing or part being removed/disassembled in it. I don’t think much was learned from this Video except that the transfer case has a lot of parts that this guy doesn’t want to show you how to remove them. I think the video should better be called, “Transfer Cases have a lot of Parts & Here's a picture of Most of them.”

Because 'clicks' and the ones out there are old enough to start failing now.

Why did you shut the video of when you did the clip and took the case apart ? And then you shut it off to take it all apart. Waste of time watching this video
