I had one of these back in 1998. It was a beast. Towed my yard trailer, ran like hell on the forest roads in the Deschutes National Forest in Central Oregon, never gave me any trouble. Loved it

Thanks for a great video. Picked up a 1998 350 big bear from a close friends dad. Very low hours. Carb cleaned and runs like a champ now. mine does not require a brake pull to start. just use it around my farm but glad to see it can do more offroading than i will ever do. Cheers.

my 2011 4x4 front locker irs has been through hell. Ive pulled and pushed a 3800 pound tractor in neutral a few times. Ive pushed a ford crown vic a few times, pushed and pulled an army jeep, the towing limit is 1200 and i pulled 3800. Ive wrecked twice, one time bending the oil cooler, and one of the headlights pointing down it still ran fine after just replacing the racks then it was stolen and ran hard on the road and spray painted. it came back with its mud lites now bald from being on the road. one of the tie rods was bent i straightened it with a vice and a hammer. it runs fine with bald tires and loose stearing and half covered in yellow and green paint. i respectfully doubt any other atv is made this well.

Also thinking for farm chores just trying to find 2 wheel drive & would prefer the easier steering - Found 250 - in Good shape but it's newer model - Also wondering which are the most bomb proof motors - 250, 350, 400 as I've seen them all used - any Yamaha advice appreciated -
@WeTryMotorsports5 жыл бұрын
88-1994 had weaker tops and wiring but better diffs and stronger build. 95+ had stronger motors. This is just what I see. The stators on the 250 go all the time. 350 are used on the warrior, too. Parts are plentiful. Can't go wrong, really. I'd fo a 350 for towing

@@jacklowe3788 I hear you, I never deal with dealerships because they take advantage of us common folk. I've only purchase new jet skis for this reason. Although that 450 Polaris four by four is tempting. it all depends on what you have to spend and what you're willing to sacrifice. If you have time to work on machinery it's best to go with the old stuff for cheap.

It looks pretty rough riding. Didn't they come with a high/low range? I saw it had the cut out for the shift lever in the front plastic. I liked your review, I didn't realize they were top heavy. I've been wanting to buy one but I can see why the Honda 300 was so popular if it wasn't tippy. I never so a lot of Big Bears in my area back when they were being manufactured.
@WeTryMotorsports6 жыл бұрын
Most of them came with the high, low, reverse gear up top left. This one, if you noticed, has the reverse on the center console between the handlebars. That is the tell tale of no switching mechanism beneath the rear shaft. I'll highlight that in another upcoming video. They are a bit tippier then the fourtraxx 300 4X4 due to the center of gravity. However compared to most quads nowadays it's not even remotely bad. Overall it's still an amazing ATV if you can find one in good shape! Thanks for the response.
@thatalaskaguy6 жыл бұрын
Tippo Tries Motorsports good info! I didn’t know they had different places for the low range selector. I’ve been keeping my eye out for one of these quads for a while now.
