That is an amazing old mill! Thanks for the tour. I wonder if anyone has a few pictures of it when it was operating. Those were some very talented stonemasons that built that structure.

Beautiful stone building. Still standing too! Would love to swing my detector around the outside the building. Unless it's prohibited as a historical area. Nice show and tell my friend.

The only grinding stones I have ever seen were in Mango Avenue Rabaul. Heaven knows what they were grinding. They were in Oakland Tasmania, but they were still busy. I heard that most grindstones especially in Europe were fashioned from sandstone mined in Normandy.

Where did the people who worked there live? At the Mill or did they travel back and forth daily? And from how far? Thanks Warren for the historical video! Loved it!

That old mill is an incredible piece of engineering. Blackberries are an amazing plant. They are native to Europe, North Africa, North and South America. They are so genetically diverse that scientists haven't worked out where they originated from but it wasn't Australia. Sorry about the briar patches but your welcome for the tasty fruit.

Do you have to worry about snakes out in these outback places you go to?

Yes we are always aware of snakes wherever we go adventuring or detecting - we see quite a few but just give them a wide berth LOL. Cheers. Warren.
