But as soon as I sit in one place for longer then 30 seconds it turns off , and keeps doing that , I thought it would be the fuel pump relay but I already change it and it’s doing the same thing can you help me out

Backhanded compliments are just the thing everyone likes to hear. Drew, you have a responsibility in society not to be a bully. To be taken to account when you are one. And to apologize if you realize you made a mistake. This would be akin to a person saying that someone’s hat is cool then pointing and laughing because they are blind. I hope you can understand how your words matter. If not, that’s okay. I have a great sense of humor… laughing at things like this are not funny.
@zim8236

@@rickbrower5794 I don’t understand why people get so offended/triggered over the smallest little things. Comparing him making an observation about his dialect to laughing at someone who is blind is a piss poor analogy. If he said something like “It’s pronounced “vehicle” not “vyhricle”, idiot.” Then that would be rude and completely unnecessary, but All the guy did was comment about an observation he made. He shouldn’t apologize nor does he have a need to. If you don’t like what he said cry about it and move on. Grow up.

im sure somebody did mentioned in these hundreds of comments which i have no time to read all, O-rings in modern in-tank fuel pump+filter+regulator, need to be changed as well to reduce/prevent gradual loss of fuel pressure over time and improve fuel pump efficiency(less workload in the long-run). sharing experiences is cool.

In my '87 Ford 5.0L, fuel pressure is relative to the intake manifold, so the gage reading (relative to atmosphere) will drop with engine running, and can vary at least 10 PSI as you blip the throttle. The fuel tank is flat and sloshes badly even when fuel level is low. The resulting weight transfer makes it much more difficult to manage (and more dangerous) than you would think, so I made an attachment for my floor jack that supports the tank more widely AND also keeps the jack itself from tipping over. This has come in handy for transmissions that like to roll off the jack.

I love you man, I know I'm a year late for saving my expedition but fuel pressure or the Fuel pump shat the bed. I had to keep my foot on pressed slightly on the gas, otherwise it would stall. It's last day with me, it stalled in traffic and thankfully I managed to steer into a side street with no power, everything just shut down so it required some strength to steer that beast. 1999 expedition with the V8 Triton engine. Lesson learned.

Now onwards, I will keep my tank at least half full and get a pressure gauge tester to monitor my fuel line pressure. What do you know about 'sticky' fuel pump? Is that also due to low fuel, overheating, bad fuel? Worn parts, time to change? Thanks. Frank

Great video, and thanks for posting. I had a leaking fuel filter on the tank side of the filter. I put a hose clamp on both sides of the filter and that seems to have fixed the leak. There was and is a 2-3 second delay in combustion before and after I fixed the filter leak. I've suspected that it might be the pressure regulator causing the delay. Your video makes me lean that way even more now. And, yesterday I noticed for the first time evidence of a small fuel leak just below the pressure regulator but also very close to the fuel rail connector. I have an '02 Taurus DOHC Duratec engine. I assume there's a replaceable O-ring on that fuel rail connector ?

I learned a hack from a fellow youtuber earlier: if there is still pressure loss at the shrader valve with all fuel injector electrical pigtails unplugged there's a high probability that an injector is stuck open and leaking.

I'm going to test out the fuel pressure and look into the pumps next. I've already replaced: knock sensors, all 8 injectors, all 8 coil pack plugs and wires, mass air flow sensor, tps sensor, o2 sensors, both cats. I was at a loss until this video.

Very informative. I changed my fuel injectors because my car was running rich and I could smell a heavy petrol scent near the engine. When I changed them my car was running a lot smoother however still some hesitation on startup and fuel scent. While I changed them I could see that my intake valves were MASSIVELY caked with carbon deposits. Could this be the cause of my car running rich and having a hesitation om startup? Or should I check fuel pressure regulator? I am going to clean my intake valves this month just to be safe, but maybe you guys know? Best wishes from the Netherlands 🍀

I have a 2009 Pontiac G6 pushing around 214,000 miles. As soon as I am about to take a turn, my steering wheel gets hard, and my gas pedal is hard as well. But all my lights are still on in my car. I can shift gears easily with no problems, but it will not go at all. But the few times it has done that, I never took notice to hear if my engine was still running or not. Had someone to place it on a machine, but no codes pulled up at all. So any information or a possibility of what might be the problem would be helpful.

The mechanic estimated $650.00 to replace or repair the "fuel pulsator" he called it. Unfortunately I have NOT found much information on "pulsators" or "pulse dampeners." I also have not found the location of said part. I can't look at the car yet to verify that it has a fuel pressure regulator, but I'm quite sure it does have one. Is the fuel pressure regulator the same part as a fuel pulsator or fuel dampener?

You lost pressure while revving because it consumed higher volumes of fuel this it robbed the pressure. Could be a throttle response issue. Like a delay or it could be a clog somewhere

Hi, New Subscriber Here. GreatVideo.. 👍 I like how you explain everthing. very informative! I would've liked to see what vehicle you're using in the video and hear you touch on certain things. Such as on that particular vehicle the fuel filter is Not visible. " if I'm correct" and that's a Dodge Ram. The fuel filter is actually part of the fuel pump assembly. But again, Great Video. You Gave a lot of info, you didn't ramble and I didn't get bored!!! 👍👍👍

I love your videos, I also have a 96 dodge ram 1500 v8 5.2 and I have a problem, when I start it it tends to start and die unless I hold some gas. Ive changed the fuel pump, tps sensor, iac valve, map sensor and camshaft sensor. Any idea what else would cause this ? I also see that my catalytic converter sometimes has some smoke coming out of it

+Marco Tobon We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c

Should I leave key on while waiting for fuel pressure to drop? And what should my pressure come down to if everything is normal?

Idk how often y'all go back to old comments on old videos but working on a 98 lumina 3.1l. The car starts fine at first then dies out of no where. When it dies it doesn't want to start other than just continuous cranking. Fuel pressure drops about 10psi within 20 to 25seconds. The pressure regulator has suction when car is running. It primes up to 40 when key is turn to on position. I do hear clicking where the fuel injectors are but not sure if that's just what they do. My truck don't make that sound when just primed but her lumina does. had good vacuum n what not when car was running and pulles hose off of regulator. From what I was told the pressure regulator is activated via suction so when car is on. She's had new battery, new spark plugs and wires, fuel injectors, o2 sensor (one of em), gas cap, maf, and fuel filter replaced. Still same issue. Dies out of no where and doesn't want to start

Great video, 2010Yukon XL, 6.2L , what if you have the leak back in morning which would think regulator or dripping fuel injectors. What if you have the drip back And you have a Rich burning system. Both banks burning rich? Would you think fuel regulator also? Thank you, I have had a very hard time finding this problem

2014 Chevy Silverado 4x4 LT: I have this same very descriptive problem. I plugged in my scanner and it basically said a fuel sensor. a mechanic told me mine has 2 fuel sensors, 1 in front and 1 in the fuel pump. and it just so happened that my gas tank was leaking gas from a broken gas line in it connected to the sensor. fixed the problem I thought and after it still continues to show the check engine light. would that mean the sensor in front is the problem?
