This video is a godsend. It probably saved me $250 in labor costs by doing it myself. My only suggestion is when you get a new wiper motor, test it first before installing it. I bought a reman from a local parts house and I installed it completely before testing it. You could hear it grinding from my neighbors house. I returned it and bought a new wiper motor. All good I had a very difficult time finding the 8 mm bolt to rotate the wiper arms. I hooked the motor back up and bumped the ignition until the arms moved to where I could get the wiper assembly out. Finally when I installed the new one, I left the plastic piece on the wiper motor and when I tighten the three screws down it went up into the housing. Don't know if this was right or wrong but it's working for me.

Great video, thanks much. I would like to ask why risk damaging the windshield? I just watched your video, which is great, but there is no need to rest the hood back on the windshield. If you are worried about scratching the hood put some tape on it. I removed and replaced my wiper motor on my 2003 f150 supercrew this afternoon. I closed the hood no problem, plenty of room.Thanks for your time.

You can’t uninstall/install bracket assembly unless you remove entire rod end underneath the wiper blade by removing the ring clip, it’s also going to make it much much easier, this Ford wiper motor is a pain in the ass by design, thanks Ford

Thank you for your excellent video. The quality of your filming, lighting and explanation really made this job tolerable. I ran into trouble because my issue was the bushings (rather than the motor) and when I disassembled the arms, I didn't get them back together the right way. Pausing your video when the unit was ready to reinstall into the truck was a godsend! It showed me the right way to align the arms and I was able to finish the job. Incidentally, the unit will not fit back into the truck if the arms are not properly attached. Thank you again!

Hey so mine go up stuck in a spot and I give them a little tug and they go all the way then back down just fine would that be bushings?

Fantastic tip on how to get the arms lined up to take the assembly out. Doubt anyone could figure that out on their own. I did see the part that the 8 mm bolt holds came off on the side with the 2 bolts, and was put back on the opposite side, on the side with only 1 bolt. Guess it works either way. And most motors don't seem to have that plastic piece underneath the 8 mm bolt....guess it is not really needed.

I put this in as recommended (compared the video to my assembly) and when I turn the wiper switch on, the wipers move correctly once, then they jump and operates in reverse (parking in the up position). Any advice? A mechanic recently wired a new pigtail, as the old one was melted.

So I did this the exact same way but once u put it in again you have to align it once it's in place with that being said I tighten it with hand wrech & after about 4 turns back n forth while wipers on going the screw backs out. I've taken this thing out 3 times back to back it keeps doing same thing !

Can someone tell me what motor I have ?? The piece in the middle of the three bolts in the triangle shape has like teeth to it and a snubby thread piece. I have an 02 7.3 f350 let me know please

Hi, I have a 04 f150. Wipers will not work. Took the motor out and plugged it in and spins in one direction. Put it back on wiper assembly and it spins and jams up against the assembly.

So i checked this out ... my passenger side still works but the driver side still catching the lip .. Took to a mechanic shop, they put a new motor on it and it still messing up ... anything else to suggest to try?

Is the f250 super duty the same ? Mine didn’t have the intermediate options working? I changed the multifunction switch didn’t fix it? 1999 truck is the options controlled in the motor ? Thx Danny

1A Auto Parts So the intermittent function is in the motor ? Or is there a module that controls it between the lever and the motor ? I don’t know where to look for why it’s not working. I just change the multifunction lever and that did not fix it. The wipers work when I turn it all the way to low or high just not on the intermittent options. Thx Danny

Hit send by accident. So the nut just crushes down the aluminum into the spline and that's what holds it? I expected to have to line up the splines.
