My dealership wanted $400 to do this job! I bought the part for $100, brought the laptop right out to the truck with me and went through it step by step. I never would have attempted this without the video. The window works perfectly and you can't tell the door panel was removed. AWESOME!!! thank you.

Being someone who doesn’t know a lot about vehicle repairs, I was able to use this video with the part I purchased at a local auto parts store and do the installation with the help of my brother in less than an hour. Window now works great. Thank you so much for posting this video

THANK YOU 1aauto for ALL your wonderful videos! I'm not sure if it was just my laptop but the sound in your video started out loud & clear but ended up so low that we couldn't hear what he was saying. So we just watched what he was doing and didn't hear the part about holding on to the wheel! LOL... That said, we ended up watching your "What NOT to do when replacing a power window motor" and my daughter & I got it done! THANK YOU again, as you helped 2 females save a lot of time & money!! =)

This how to video was excellant, found it very helpful( Note; I have a 1999 GMC SIERRA and there is some minor diffences concerning fastener locations on the door panel) Anyway removal and installation of the power window motor and regulator took me 35 minutes. Such KZbin howto video's are better that the factory shop manuals published by GM that I have.

@Spank529 Process will be similar, you will probably have to unbolt the regulator so you can move the window in to a position where you can get at the bolts that hold the reg to the window.

Normally there should be no squealing going on with the regulator after installing a new one. If it is, most likely one of the one of the rollers is not properly lubricated or the wire is catching causing it to bind up and make a noise. You could try spraying the wheels with lithium grease and see if that solves your issue.
@SCOTMIN15 жыл бұрын
Well, you saved me $100, It took me less then an hour to change the regulator. Thanks soooo much. The door panel was the hardest part. I used to work on my cars all the time and have been paying people to do most repairs lately. Your video was a very good learning method.... THANKS FOR POSTING!!!!!

Excellent post thank you for your help. I used you're advise to replace the regulator on my '03 sierra denali. everything was going well until i went to get the replacement part from my gmc dealer. Apparently the regulator has changed . Now the bottom two attachment points are studs that accept a 10 mm nut. The nut of course doesn't come with the replacement part so I had to return to the dealer to get the two nuts that were missing.

Okay, so I got it all apart just great, thanks to this vid. However, now the regulator is going up too high and sliding off it's own track. Is there a special way to connect the motor to the regulator so that it only goes up a certain distance? I fiddled around with it for a while and got it to go up even higher off it's track but am still having trouble getting it the other way. Suggestions, anyone?
@Not-The-Expert9 жыл бұрын
Never mind.... Come to find out, it only has that problem when it's still out of the door. The window itself keeps the regulator from going up too high, LOL! Well, guess that's what DIY is all about: LEARNING! Thanks again for the video!
