I think he forgot to pull the rear shocks and unplug the crank sensor.

Waaaaaay more work than need be... takes about 5mins from the outside! Longest part was taping around it to protect the paint just in case my screwdriver and needle nose slipped..

Surprised he was able to do this with the engine still in the vehicle!

That’s the longest route I’ve ever seen on changing out a switch LoL. But this vid is great for those needing a guide on taking the whole thing apart

Thanks for the video but that’s what a real mechanic would do: $25 part $400 hr for labor Everyday people: Break the old one and do it in 5 mins or less

I tried to pull mine out from the outside like quite a few commenters, but it got pushed up inside so that I couldn’t get it out. Ended up having to go the long route and follow the video. Very thankful!

Thanks for the video, but whatever you do people, don't follow this procedure. I had my old switch out in less than 3 minutes using a small screwdriver and a set of long nose pliers. Replacement simply plugged in and clipped it back on to the car. Its a 5 mins job, tops.
@MohrRacing23 жыл бұрын
How did you get the switch out?
@sirgaddofneer3 жыл бұрын
@@MohrRacing2 small screwdriver and some pliers. Destroyed the old switch, but who cares.... That's junk anyway

liftglass cannot be opened/released. replaced switch with D1994E. keyfob does not release glass latch. interior panel cannot be removed unless glass can be opened. there is power for the liftgate latch release. what else can be done to open liftglass?
@1AAuto3 жыл бұрын
+Kurt Anderson We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c

Pop liftgate panel off as much as possible. You should be able to find the release switch not far below the window latch. There are a couple videos that show you where the release latch is while demonstrating how to replace liftgate release.

So what do we do when your wiper arm removal tool ends up breaking the wiper arm and still cannot remove the arm thats left?

Anyone else got around to those 4 10mm nuts that hold the upper latch cover on that houses the switch? Mine are spinning without being able to be removed. Any fix for that?
@jasonroy37922 жыл бұрын
Same. Pulled the old one out from the outside after reading some comments. Plugged the new one in and done.

This guy made a 20min job $15 part turn in2 a 2hr job prob $250 job 🤦🏻♂️👎just push in the tabs w/a small screw driver or pointer and pull out the socket...come on people don't be suckered in2 thinking you only have 2 do it the long and expensive way

Talk about over complicating something, watch the other videos on how to remove it and replace it. I just did mine in under 5 min, they should take this video down 🤡

You don't have to do any of that you can just pry the old one out from the outside

I think I'll just use the remote to open the rear glass. You're right. It does look nasty.

@SuburbanWhiteDad6 ай бұрын
What a colossal waste of time. WAY more work than you need to do. You don't even need to take the panel off, just do it from the outside.
@mikewazowski59002 жыл бұрын
This is probably the least helpful video out there. It's long, convoluted, and intimidating to people trying to learn and work on their own cars. Not to mention that's full of shameless plugs... just use a screwdriver with tape on the tip and carefully pry the button out. Less than 5 minutes.

"There is two" ???? Great video except for your grammar. Design is absolutely shit ! All that work just to get to that switch ? Chevrolet plastic panels are the just horrible.
