Lovely pattern and tutorial. Easy to customize to other sizes. Love the simplicity of this design. Not sure I'd put buttons on mine but maybe a decorative two or whimsical ones. Like animal shapes or even how about some of the bling jeweled ones that come in shank buttons. I have a few celtic dragon buttons left over from using as shank buttons adding whimsy to my renovated RV sofa cushions. Would tie into the theme. I've kept it cool light colored in a light dove grey with yellow to gold accents like a multi layered in colors creme, grey, light yellow and medium gold cotton rope three teir hanging basket for fruit etc. And I've made a few other yellow accents including some faux fur in that wonderful slippery silky rabbit faux fur and soft yellow fleece pillow covers too. And a few storage bags to hold things like cooling blanket sheets and other useful things to keep all clean and neatly stored. OK want to make this in mainly lighter marine canvas for my own RV and a friends who also bought an older than two decades RV Van to renovate too. I'm down to just playing about with a few items no longer in the Have to get THESE things done like the cushions, trim and window heat and privacy curtains made. Past most of that. Down to just two projects. A 56" long pocket storage organizer for under the sofa seat and two privacy curtains one between the cab and coach where one side will have aluminum layer that's detaches to block heat when needed and the other more simple no zipper opening to provide a private dressing room outside the tiny bathroom/shower and also can be moved to make a privacy curtain between twin beds for guests who may feel the need for such. It doesn't need the aluminum layer. Anyway one curtain is cut out and the shoe pocket organizer has been cut out since last Oct along with the cushions. I used all but about 30 inches of fabric out of a 20 yard roll of marine coated canvas. So I've sewn up a storm in a year plus the curtains and the sun heat reflective curtains were done in a microsuede fabric just a shade or two but still light dove grey. I recovered the wood supported valances around three major windows also in the microsuede. I had to order 5 more yards and turns out could use another 2. Wishing now I'd ordered the second 10 yard package. They only sell in single yards, 5 yards or 10 yards. I would be happy with two more yards but needs to be one continued piece not two yards cut in one yard increments. Life's always a little challenging. I love this bag. Have to make a few for my friends RV and mine too. This lined in the dove microsuede and a soft yellow you know the shade a bit more yellower than vanilla or banana often named but lighter than lemon yellow. It's a dreamy yellow. They make a banana yellow in similar marine canvas which I have on hand so maybe I can see this in that. I painted just this week 6 vinyl rattan looking baskets of different sizes a soft stone grey that at first I was happy with the natural look but then painted the smallest ones to test and oh my gosh they are so lovely they all got painted. And the paint is showing no signs of flaking or peeling from the plastic rattan material. Love DIY and support everyone who makes these videos to share with others. Thank you Wandee. This is a keeper and for me to share with other sewing friends and making a few for friends too.

I revisited this design today. I realized that you do not need to leave an open seam in the lining? Not sure why it's there. I know often people making the box bags do this for good reason because they are sewn together via zippers and sides but for this where you add the lining by sewing around the top and that's the only connection then I just skip and sew the entire seams up leaving none. Tuck it inside and pin smoothly in place and top stitch around. And it's finished. I'm still not a fan of the buttons. These are wonderful bags however and great if you have a friend who has a small camper. Make them a few different size box bags and maybe a box bag like tote and then 2-3 of these little wall bags. I also like the longer ones that are kind of cylinder like. You can make them longer or shorter and then it'll hold pencils or small tools in the sewing room. Or yes that RV too. Your daily silverware keeping it simple and light weight.
