The 2018 Series is very nice, the ladder and refrigerator is what drivers needs. Please consider in working with more space so a 6.0 - 7.0 feet male can do push-ups and sit-ups. Trucks need to also be designed for the trucker to keep fit . built-in bars for sit ups, pull ups, push ups and a portable treadmill.

New engine mounts to make for a more quiet ride. Ok how long until everything in the interior starts to sqeek and rattle. Freightliner loves to use plastic and the lack of rubber grommets gives it that freightshaker feel, sheer amount of plastic !!! Lets not forget , did freightliner fix that built in cb antenna in the ceiling ??? Since it's all redesigned will that mean more breakdown time and more time sitting on the side of the road not making money due to the lack of freightliner not working out the bugs out

Question is, will you legally be able to remove the airdam in the US, supposedly they are supposed to go nuts with fuel economy regs very soon, and I don't see the change of administration changing that given trucking policy is driven by the lobbyists that represent Swift and Werner who will do anything to reduce fuel use.

For me, it looks nice, I like the opening of under the hood, inside cab, lights great, storage is less because of you are team, need room to roof to take for you, all trucks are going to that sleeper set up, ladder I found to be a joke, the bunk looks up more than old models to it. I love the big window, where is the backup camera under the spot lights and forward camera to help get closer to things. Two alarms is good, does it play white noise to help driver fell asleep for first 30 minutes.

You can make the modern streamlined trucks look good usually even from the factory (they have a lot of nicer looking wheels, trim, etc on the option list for O/Os who want a nice looking truck), but for the huge companies that operate these by the 10s of thousands they don't care if the truck is pretty, they only care that it is profitable and gets the best possible fuel economy.

This is the deluxe model, mainly for owner operators.. if you work for a mega carrier you're going to be lucky to get something that is even base model. Most carriers order Bare Bones below base model.
@BisonTransport7 жыл бұрын
Hi VinzClortho, thanks for your comment. You are right in some cases. This is a deluxe model but it is a company tractor. Bison's gold tractors are company and our white ones are owner-operators. We often state that we spec our trucks how an owner-operator would, so in that case we agree. Our professional drivers spend a lot of time in the tractors so if we can add features that improve their safety, comfort, and well-being, it is a worthwhile investment. Thanks for watching.

Is there any particular reason these trucks don't have digital a/c? I think that for someone who is going to be inside the vehicle for a long long time and also sleep in it, being able to choose the exact wanted temperature is important. Or drivers don't really care about it?

Ok thanks so much for getting back to me! It's been ten years since I feel off from the load of my dump trailer while topping the load in the wind and hurt my back, once and for all! So I've been retired since my back operation. But there was a time I drove over the road for fifteen years accident free, mostly in the American North East, to Tennessee. But like every thing else in life, time marches on, along with all the changes and advances! Have you seen that prototype Tesla tractor? That is electric and runs on hydrogen? It has 1,000 hp and 2,000 ft lbs tq! All while having a loaded running range of 800-1200 miles depending on how heavy the load is. With the equivalent of 12-15 mpg!!! There is an article about that in the latest Car &Driver! Of all things!

Hi Kevin. Thanks for your comments. We are pleased to hear about your recovery. Yes, it will be interesting to see where tractor technology goes.

What's the difference between having two tires on the rear axles as opposed to singles tires on the rear axles? You see trucks in the States with singles, but most Canadian trucks have two tire per axle. I'm not a truck driver, just asking.
@keithgreen708 жыл бұрын
Charles Damery The super singles are lighter than the dual tires. The problem is that they suck on snow and ice plus if you blow a single out you have to pull over on the side of the road immediately or you will destroy the rim.

@BisonTransport7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for commenting. We are not sure why you ask this specifically but here is a reply that may be relevant. Our company fleet is all newer than 48 months so we don't have rust issues or try to cover things up with cheap fixes. We have a very modern fleet and heavily invest in preventative maintenance. Specific to Winnipeg, we often have suppliers tell us their product is fine with winter conditions like extreme cold or salt. We often have them visit us in February so they have a clear understanding what a Canadian winter is like. We also test a lot of products in extremely harsh conditions to ensure they can meet our needs.
