1.5 Basic idea about the selection of heat sinks for SCR and TRIACS
1.6 Methods of triggering a Thyristor. Study of triggering circuits
1.7 UJT, its Construction, working principles and V-I characteristics, UJT
relaxation oscillator
1.8 Commutation of Thyristors
1.9 Series and parallel operation of Thyristors
1.10 Applications of SCR, TRIACS and Quadriac such as light intensity control,
speed control of DC and universal motor, fan regulator, battery charger etc.
1.11 dv/dt and di/dt protection of SCR.
