Did you get a misfire after this, I've read only about clocking the vvti gear clockwise when you time it? I noticed you went counter clockwise?
@muridori79282 жыл бұрын
I think I should have given a bit of explanation there. 19:38 After tightening the vvti pulley I rotate the intake cam a bit counter clockwise and use the wrench by slightly tapping it to rotate the cam again clockwise to get the slack out and to align it more precisely with the timing markings which should be done for all pulleys before installing the timing belt. The car ran fine throughout the whole power curve and was also dynoed shortly after to get a reference before installing the new turbo. :) But you are correct, the vvti pulley / intake cam should be rotated clockwise before installing the timing belt.

Ok thanks, I only asked because over the winter I did all new seals and new timing belt and after putting everything back together I have a misfire under full load. I re-timed it and still doing the same shit so now I'm wondering what else it could be
@muridori79282 жыл бұрын
I often got misfiring under full load with bad plugs. The waste spark coils seem to eat them rather quickly, sometimes even before reaching 10k km on even with completely stock 1J. There was also noticed some power loss during dyno, approximately 10hp which was corrected with new plugs so might be a good idea to replace them just in case.

I've tried to sets of plugs now bkre7 and 6's copper plugs one set gapped for .035 and .028 and still having the same issue
