The bed is on the wrong side of the room. You will want to look out the window, rather than look at the wall when you lie in bed. It's also colder by the external wall. From an architect.

I'll add my suggestion to all the others to please plumb in a half bath on the top floor. The last thing you want is random people in your personal space, and as others mentioned, it'll get really old tromping up and down stairs to the loo, especially if you've got to eventually deal with kiddos. So glad you've got some paper plans to ponder - it'll be good to hash out most of the details before anything actually gets roughed in!

We used an International flatbed truck with several hay wagons in tow. Used a rope to tie the steering wheel so it would go straight, put it in low-low (creeper gear) and as it idle along between rows of bails jump out and pick them up as we walked along. Another person stacked while one or two would throw them up to the stacker. At the end of the field turn it around and did it all over again. This was back in the 1950-60s. Hard work but we loved doing it. Reliving the old days through your channel!

Water lines on the interior walls, not exterior. The other thing is try to not have the door to the closet be in the bathroom, you don't want all the moisture from a hot shower getting into your clothes or on the wood of whatever closet system you go with.

Why is it that people always advocate for their favorite youtuber to take whatever temporary animal they are interacting with away from it's owner? The same thing is happening over on Yaba with the yard dog. Brownie has an owner that loves her and that she loves. Bole and Hneiva should not take her away from that. Suggesting it is just ignorant and unkind imo.

Cole my husband and I have been watching your progress on the farm for two years now. We appreciate your maturity and growth as a person and a family. We've noticed that many of your suppliers, vendors are all professional looking individuals. Cole, I think what you could do is let everyone know that you are planning to get a haircut and schedule the day. It would make a great video. I think it will also give you a more mature look. College is behind you and hair accidents do occur on the farm. Stay safe and continued success. Looks like rain is headed your way the week of 6/20/21.

Hey Cole - The changes to the master Bedroom plan make it much more practical and - prevents any embarrassing moments. Would it not be better (a little bit) To make your Master room exclusive for your use. Put another bath room (Shower, Toilet, sink) for the general use of the second floor rooms on the other side of the house. Cole, it is probably one more time taker but try making a model. You can use cardboard from a box - the thickness of the cardboard is about scale to the thickness of the walls. Looks good so far. Summer on a farm - Too busy for words. Why are those people holding up your environmental studies? On a farm, the weather and the plants don't wait.

OK Neva I had braces too. Granted having surgery to expose teeth that were hidden in my gums and pull down by rubber bands. That was unpleasant. But actually what hurt worse. Was when I had to put two and three rubber bands on my teeth to pull them into place. Hope you’re rubber bands don’t hurt like mine did. Hope the rubber bands don’t shut you up. We all need to hear how excited you get to do things on the farm. I hope and pray everything gets into place quickly.

I suggest having a separate enclosed toilet room inside the bathroom. When we did a remodel on our bathroom we enclosed the toilet in it's own little room with it's own ventilator fan because our laundry happens to be in that bathroom, so you never have to worry about someone walking in on you to change the laundry while you are indisposed, and if you happen to be using the bathtub/shower you won't get the odor from someone using the toilet at the same time. Especially since you intend to have more than one entrance into the bathroom area, ensuring privacy for the toilet area will be worth it's weight in gold. Put the little toilet room right across from the base of the steps to the attic for easy access as well as privacy. You also might want to consider swapping the bathroom area out so that the bathroom necessities are on the end wall and have his/her closets in between the bedroom and bathroom for better access from both sides. It also makes using the toilet at night a little quieter in the bedroom in case someone is sleeping at the time. That way you can also have an open floor plan between the bedroom and closet area without any need for a doorway yet still maintaining bathroom privacy.

I kind of had some flashbacks of when I was a kid (14) growing up on a small farm in Washington state. If it broke down it was up to me to figure out why (My dad traveled for his job and was gone weekdays and when you had to bale it just had to be done), pulling the broken baler onto our nicely manicured back lawn where the coolness of the grass beat out the hot 99 degree day while crawling underneath to figure out why the hay wasn't feeding through properly. Cutting hay/baling for our own feed and doing it for others around the area. We had a wire square baler pulled by a small Oliver tractor. (I believe it was a New Holland for the baler and we had a Heston 3 wheeled swather which my dad never let me drive it as it was so unstable.) Learned so much as a kid doing that type of work at such a young age.

Hey Cole,.....will your new grain bins have a "Fall Arrest" system in it for grain bin work and/or rescues if needed? Like some heavy duty anchor points for hooking up "Fall Protection" equipment? And some special curved portable walls to shield around the person you are digging out, and small portable grating to walk on, so a person doesn't sink into the grain? (think snow shoes). And small buckets and/or portable auger (battery drill operated) to remove grain from around the person being rescued? Check to see if your local Fire Department is set up for grain bin rescues, and if they have any advice on things you could have to cut down on Rescue time.

@@KameraShy, Nope, I live in area where winters can get 20 below, so I guess that's not cold enough and the fact I insulated homes for 10yrs doesn't make me educated enough on the subject, right ?

You don’t have to worry with Pex lines....but I would recommend. Spray foam for insulation....it’ll help strengthen the house and makes it super quiet inside....as well as insulating

@@rgd2598 pex is junk. The O-rings in the connectors get minerals under them with a few years age (especially the hot water lines) and they leak.

My sister built her own house, and as an interior designer, she had hundreds of plans, sometimes such minute changes, if she did not point them out, we did not know. Just remember to put in plenty of sockets, and at a height where you can reach them easily. Yes, you want the plug for your bedside lamp hidden, but if you charge your phone on your bedside table, make it so the plug hits the socket freely.

Or install a USB ready outlet. Eliminates the charger and is a nice clean look. They work like a charm I must say.

Built and wired my house, put in more outlets and lights than you think you need. Outlets are cheap and you can downsize bulbs if it’s too bright.

Agreed - you can never have too many outlets and much easier to add extras before the wallboard goes on.

Seems the Cornstars may want to think about getting another farm dog. 🤭 It seems the viewers like seeing Brownie visiting quite a bit. Bonus points if you rescue.

Dumping those heavy hay bales with the dogs running around made me nervous they’d get crushed 😳 Hope you pay attention to where they are before dumping them. Beautiful dog by the way. So sweet.

You talked of wiring the new porch and adding a fan in the 3 season area. May I suggest you place s couple more some where you may be sitting. Not for cooling, but the moving of fan air keeps the bus away and makes sitting on the porch in the evening much more enjoyable.

We had a "chute" on our square baler. It pushed the bales in a close line up onto the flat rack. From there, 1 or 2 people on the rack stacked them, from back to front, until the rack was filled as high as the vertical rack back. Bales were laid criss-cross, alternately in each row to help prevent the stacks from toppling off the rack. The large door on the center of the 2nd story of a barn was to enable loading the bales from the rack into the barn. The peak of the door is lowered outward by a rope and a pulley. Early on, we used a pulley and rope attached to the hitch of a tractor. A claw would grab 8-10 bales and lift them up using the 'loose hay trolley' that was in most barns at the time balers came out. One person to rig the bales on the hay rack to the claw/lift, and one in the loft to unrig and stack them when they get there. Later on, we used a grain/hay elevator. Two people unloaded them from the flat rack onto the elevator. When the bales came off the elevator in the loft, others would stack them. Inevitably some bales would break. Those hunks of hay were kept at the front of the stacks, to be used up first.

Good morning I just went to bed And thought wait! Cole on your plans your house will also tell you what it wants as far as access to the attic. Really it will just come to you ah ha! Oh and in a place like this you should and will need a 200amp panel, anything less will be inadequate and will be under rated gor your plans. Also whdn you rebuild your shed nect to the house that should have its own pannel. It is so good to see a young man with dreams. Keep your eyes on the Lord and build something that will last.😇🏭🏠
