What Type of Hospital Bed Does Insurance Provide?

That is the cheapest bed out there. (The one brown one in front). It’s a joke, for folks like me; t-12 complete paraplegic, with stage 4 wounds etc. I NEED A SPECIAL, Low air low. Buy the way, the Trendelenburg position bed (Tilts at the head and the feet, while your feet don’t move at all.) Just wanted to clear that up. Sir, years ago, 2011, I got a Full Electric Bed covered 80% and Medicaid 20%. Now they don’t cover it. I need it!! Any ideas on how I can get Medicare to cover a full electric bed?

Get your doctor to wright a prescription for a specific bed model or bed with very specific features. If they are given a prescription from a doctor they will need to honor it. If it is vague you will be stuck with the brown bed. It is nice having it here to clearly show the difference between a real hospital bed and a low priced home care bed with limited features and comfort.

@@usamedbedSir, so what you are saying is, is if my wound specialist doctor, accurately writes a prescription to a specific and well detail way, with every reason I need the features, then Medicare would allow certain people like me a higher level bed? I’m begging for help. So, in your years of experience, have you helped people like me that needed a special home hospital bed? Thank you.

@@usamedbedsir, my current “hospital bed”, is literally being held together at the hand rails by ratchet straps. It’s so scary and unsafe. Could you help me sir, with an example of what other folks had written up on their prescriptions, to get the proper, Low air loss, Trendelenburg, lateral movement hospital bed? My life is primarily in bed these last 2 1/2 years, prognosis on my stage 4 wound is good, but I’ll be more likely to reacquire wounds in the future, so I need the special hospital bed to at least give me a fighting chance.

@@usamedbedsir, I’d gladly pay off the record, a reasonable consultant fee for help attaining one of the special beds you sell if possible. I’m so desperate, and at my end of hopes. Even if it takes 6 months for the process, I just need someone to help lead me in the right direction please.

@@TURTLEORIGINAL Hello - Do you have insurance? If you do you MUST get a doctors prescription for a hospital grade bed. Best bet it to say you need a "Stryker Secure 3" or a Progressa bed. Insurance will only provide what they have to so getting something specific like a "Prius Duet" air mattress. Medicare will pay their max whatever that is, if validated by a doctor, you pay the rest, depends on how deep is your pocket. My mother had one of those beds and we had to change the mattresses every 6 months, no matter how you hype it the comfort will not be there.

That brown bed is awful. I have it. And im stuck in it for hours becuase it has to cool down up amd down.

How much does one of those Hill-Rom beds go for?
