The crowd reacts like the athlete was doing some basic moves, but in fact every single trick is far beyond the abilities of a regular person. I don't know may be it looks so impressive cause I see this kind of sport for the 1st time. Outstanding performance.

There is a saying here in England, as I am sure you have an equivalent of 'If you fall off of the horse, and don't get straight back on; you will probably never ride again' I am certain that this has happened to you over and over... Amazing dedication. As an ancient gymnast and spring board diver I could not do this in my prime. But! I am 61 and can still do a handstand on a skate board, moving along!😁

Because that's the sport. There are many who do the same tricks. He's just the best of them right now. Wich doesn't mean that any of that is even close to what a regular person can achieve in a lifetime of training. If you watch 4 people running on a track at speeds that would absolutely explode the heart of a regular person, people arent freaking out either.

I did "Kunstradfahren" as a child in Germany. I even wone two gold medals in our local competitions. It makes me appreciate the absurdity of this guy's skill even more. Trying to learn "Sattel Lenkerstand" (standing on the seat and the handlebar) took me forever - and this guy just uses it as a platform for some non-human bike gymnastics. Really impressive!

I used to do this sport as a kid and I recognize a lot of these figures by how incredibly difficult they are to learn and master to the precision that this man has, and by how painful many of these are to hold with the various parts of the bike stabbing holes into your body... massive respect to him for setting that record, here's to many more!

Big difference between BMX and this is, that BMX have freewheel hubs and bikes for trick cycling are fixed gear.

@@if413 what are talking about? Ex-Flatlander here. Freecoaster/ Hubs were never mandatory in competition, same as brakes. He can choose whatever he prefers. only differences are wheelsize and overall geometry to his bike. Of course, he would have get used to it. Are you from US? Whats wrong with u? I have so many questions. How does anyone judge this? It was perfection. If this is the juniors what in the world are the seniors doing? Finally, I was in awe the entire performance, until the end. We called it "Freestyle" in the 1980s. I'm 50 and was also doing similar in ~1985 (much more basic things than here). I had a Hutch Trickfox and Skyway mags. I can remember the one move where you're on rear wheel and you step over the head tube as being called "cherry picker". Hell I struggled with manuals and wheelies though.
