I honestly think that 2k20 had the biggest roster because all of the strange superstars were their own characters and you couldn't change the original versions into them. Like if you wanted Baron Corbin vs Corbin the creator then you can have that match

Strange in respect to the randomness of it. WWE HOFer since 2014, probably made sense for him to be in 2K14, but 2K22 was the year he made his first appearance? A DLC appearance at that, and then didn't return in 2K23 either. It might not feel strange to some as it was only last year, but I do think in time its one that will fall into that category.

I wasn't even aware who he was before the DLC was announced to be honest, and i've watched wrestling since I was little. Just seemed like a very random inclusion to me.

If 2K20 was as good as 19 or 23 then I think the DLC model of different takes on existing superstars and original characters would have stuck around as they were really cool and fun to use especially as big blowoff personas in universe mode like demon king Balor instead of the regular demon Finn for example
