I know nothing about music or technique but having watched a lot of vocal coach reactions im trying to form my thoughts based solely on this performance I feel minhyuk's husky voice/sound was utilized to the fullest extent and this was the RIGHT song. Idk if the show staff chose songs for all duets, but I think he gave his voice a very deep, 'rounded and full" sound that I feel minhyuk doesn't get to utilize as often. It gives his voice more depth, like when he sings his high notes, there's a vibrato that feels like a "ripple of a stream" like his voice here sounds THICK but in a good way Whereas the girl's voice in this particular song sounded very sharp and thin, and personally her tone/voice color didn't suit this song as much I think a reactor mentioned before that minhyuk has a lot of 'nasality' in his voice and/or technique, which keeps his voice usually brighter/higher/thinner Here I feel like there's much more softness/depth and o really want him to develop more of this side to him Look at him hitting those high notes well and he stayed on pitch better (based on my inexperienced ears). I love this performance and I think trot with edm/pop mix really suit him as well I really like his "flying duck" performance with jooheon, good luck to him and choosing a suitable song for next round

Also want to add he sung this song with so much emotion, his husky voice has almost a 'raw' feel to it. What they say is true,you can do the most perfect singingeith technique and pitch but if your voice lacks emotion, it's not going to "touch" the audience and draw them I to the song When minhyuk went up/higher notes, I felt that. He must have practiced so much and inproved a lot. Hard work pays off
