Those rides are more common and been done longer in places like San Fran. Drivers more used to it, I’m all about safety and the times I’ve almost eaten cars was they weren’t paying attention and it was all on me! Granted situations like the NY escooter hit and run puts a big dent in trying to normalize what is clearly the future! So it’s on all of us to be safety minded and respectful of the road so none of us are hurt or killed or hurting or killing some innocent person in pursuit of our fun! There, I’m putting my soap box away! Be safe, Love others, live for the future!

I'm not sure that anyone could have said that better my friend!! A beautiful statement of truth and reality of what is happening with our PEV movement and a call to common sense when it comes to safety amongst riders. Some may disagree with how we roll thru some stops, but we can almost all agree that the situation in the intro of this vid where the 2 actually run the light late and almost get hit is not cool. We start there and keep refining. The inevitable hammer will come down on us anyway in the next year(two maybe if it gets stretched) so I especially try to get out and ride as much as I can with the "freedom" we have now!! Yes people that could make bad decisions in any aspect in life like these 2 can be a problem for sure. Thats why I didn't edit them out and put them on the spot. I even discuss and call it out in the video. I share with the community here and elsewhere and we try to better ourselves and discuss and that way pure shaming is not the total and empty outcome of these interactions. We as a group may do other things people on the ride and home may not agree upon, but this case is simply pretty clear. Taking a very bad risk with us yelling and showing warning signs, then reacting like the car did something wrong is especially cringe worthy at best 100% agreed. Appreciate your passion Rider Bro, happy and safe riding to you!

Ahh thats Miles and she's been with the group since the very 1st days. Along with a huge passion for riding(hence the reason you see her in almost every video!) she and her husband Miles also run PEVRA which is a PEV advocate dedicated organization so super rad human being AND skilled as hell rider on a EUC!!! One of my top people I want to say hello to every ride for sure. The reps with BAESK8 as of now are all pretty much associated with PEV Works that just opened up, which is why we now meet up there to start the group rides instead of the Exploratorium in SF. Nope just following the new AB 122 laws in California that will be common sense and standard for most states and countries if not doing so already. PEV's are considered bikes here in California if you didn't know that. And since we all move as one it would be really unwise and unsafe to come to a complete stop and have a bicyclist slam into you....Or worse robbed as crime is on the rise here in the Bay Area for bicyclists and many others. I could go on and on but here's a simple lesson my friend....You can act like life is written and acted out like a text book answer, but its not that cut and dry when my safety and life is at hand. Experience can help you find some knowledge but wisdom, ahhh thats a really tough intanglible for many to find.
