Tobacco industry puts food on the table for the millions of people, much more than it's accountable for hospital bills. And smokers are, in general, better people, more sincere and less hypocritical.

@@ivandragicevic6786 It's not that putting smoke into one's own lungs is necessarily a problem for me.........it's when I am forced to put someone else's cigarette smoke into my nose, throat, and lungs which is the real problem. That's why personally, I stay as far away from people who smoke cigarettes as possible. While I never was a cigarette smoker, interestingly enough, the people who tend to be the most intolerant of having to breathe in cigarette smoke are ex-smokers.

If that was the criteria for justifying an industry, then institutionalized enslavement of humans could just as easily be claimed to be justified since it creates jobs such as transportation jobs, marketing jobs, etc, etc, etc. And as for smokers being better people because they smoke........that may be nothing other than anecdote or tobacco industry propaganda. But even if it were scientifically proven to be true, it in no way, shape, or form justifies all the harm to human health that cigarette smoke results in. Cigarette smoking, of course, doesn't make someone necessarily evil..........but the tobacco industry would sure love to have everyone believe that there are no harmful consequences of people putting smoke into theirs and others lungs.
