OMG... It's beautiful. I have a 1990 1st Gen that I bought as a preparedness vehicle, back in 2011. It was red and black, with chrome. I had MAACO paint the entire truck: Bumpers, side mirror housings, door handles etc. with a coyote color, with flattener added. At the time, I thought that painting it OD Green would make it look too military - A big no no if you're a Survivalist. However, that OD vinyl wrap is gorgeous. Now you have me curious...

Very nice work. I can tell this was an all night and all day type of project.

Sackmatters Thanks boss! And yeah I could’ve hired a full time film guy for this project. Lol. Hard to stay on track with working on the truck and filming at the same time! Did the best I could. Haha
@Sackmatters5 жыл бұрын
sixslowstan between filming and working looks like you did a killer job. I’d love to really finish my girlfriends 1st gen up and make it perfect but a busy schedule says otherwise. How loud is the stack in cab. I can’t imagine that being quiet.
@sixslowstan5 жыл бұрын
Sackmatters Yeah it’s definitely not quiet😂😂. It’s not bad until you get up to about 70mph. Then it starts to drone. Lol

Just curious; why vinyl wrap vs paint?
@sixslowstan5 жыл бұрын
The Blue Collar Preacher Gives a very unique look to the truck vs. paint. My brother wrapped his car this same color and the attention it gets now is insane. It’s like a whole new care. Plus if I want to change the wrap down the road you just heat it up and peel it off.

Does it have two fuel tanks? Saw two fuel doors on the bed

Corey Martin It used to have 2 fuel tanks. The truck used to run on vegetable oil so the rear tank and fuel door was added for that.

I have a 1990 d250 with the 5.9 and just ordered the moog 7226s springs. Really want to fit this wheel and tire set up. was the trimming only done along the front bumper area or was there more? This truck is insane. love the build.
@sixslowstan5 жыл бұрын
SaucedLife Thanks man! I appreciate it! Unfortunately, I had to trim both sides of the front fender to clear this setup. I have recently installed 2” coil spacers and now I barely rub. You may want to go ahead and order coil spacers if you are going to run 2” wheel spacers like I am. It will save you a lot of hassle.
@xAmyst5 жыл бұрын
@@sixslowstan I know running wheel spacers can be a little sketch and cause more stress on things. How is it working out for you ? I was thinking of getting 1 inch but not sure how that would look. Thanks for the reply man. Appreciate all the help.
@sixslowstan5 жыл бұрын
SaucedLife I was skeptical about spacers as well but I’ve been running them on the truck for about 2 years with no issues.

In Sweden u cant have the wheels outside the fenders😒 and it fucking sucks.. looks so stupid with small wheels on a lifted truck
@garyjohnson8013 жыл бұрын
Sorry to tell you but your just like most other people because you got it wrong. That is a 2nd Gen not 1st Gen. From 1974 to 1980 is first Gen and from 1981 to 1993 is 2 Gen and to 1995 in Canada. I wish people would do theirs own research on the before assuming it's a 1st Gen
@jackkelly40322 жыл бұрын
Your conviction is ironic. Anyway, this is most definitely a “first gen” Ram. The Ram designation was assigned in 1981 and that is why we call this a first gen ram. Where you may be confusing this is that it is not the first gen of the d series. If anything it would be considered a 4th gen d series. The third generation Ram was redesigned in 1981 and then called the Ram pickup. That is why we call this the first generation of the Ram series even though it is the first redesign of the previous platform. It is unusual how condescending your post was in accusing others of not knowing what they are talking about when you clearly have know idea what you are talking about. Lol.
@desiderious15 жыл бұрын
You ruined a classic and somewhat rare truck. Fun fact : Few first generation Dodge trucks Cummins engine equipped had manual transmissions because the Getrag trannies were to light duty and they kept failing. I know because I bought a 89 new and still have it but with the 3 speed Torqueflite automatic because even though the 4 speed auto transmissions had just come out they and the manual 5 speed could not handle the torque like the legendary 727 could. Despite wanting a manual transmission equipped truck I did not want to deal with the problems they had.
