I use whole sign houses, and it honestly makes a huge difference in interpretations sometimes! For example, for me, that moon of yours in Leo would be in the second house--definitely and absolutely would modify your rising because not only is it your ruler, but the second house has a "dampening" effect on the emotions. It really grounds your moon, and therefore, your whole personality as the moon is your personal ruler--AND because Leo and Cancer are semisextile signs, this means that they truly have entirely different modes of operation. Leo, especially in the 2nd house, is quite strong and single-minded, cares more about personal values. The Venus in the 1st in Cancer *should* have that effect of wanting to be loved and accepted--however, we have to see what the other planets are doing to that Venus for sure for you! Sorry this is such a long response lol. I just am very passionate about this hahaha. The Chart Ruler is a huge component of who we are, and your STRONG Leo moon really fights much of the sensitivity and "people pleasing" that the Venus in the first might want you to have.

I think I understood your question. So oppositions (all of them) work like a see-saw sort of energy--with one planet being you on one side, and the other planet (or planets) being the "other." Oppositions function a bit like the first and seventh house actually, where you identify with the 1st house naturally--and the 7th house seems so foreign, unlike you, and sometimes even undesirable. So you'll lean on your first house planets and think that "other people" are "x, y, z" qualities associated with your 7th house planets. Through your relationships, though, and with time, you (hopefully), get to see and understand that you actually have the energy of both sets of planets within you. That's the integration that can potentially happen with oppositions.

Any thoughts on how to interpret 1st/7th house interceptions? my 12th house is ruled by Sagittarius, but it also intercepts into my 1st house, making me a Sagittarius rising, but all of my other house rulers, besides the 7th intercepted by Gemini, follow the "life path" of someone who has a Capricorn rising (i.e. Aquarius 2nd house, Leo 8th house, etc.). Maybe I'm mixing Placidus and Whole Sign house systems too much, and that's where the confusion is coming from?

Gods, I hate to be a big fat douche face right now, but let me tell you my actual opinion. I feel like hyping up interceptions is like majoring in minor issues. I exclusively use Whole Sign houses, so that eliminates interceptions in my practice. (I will use placidus, sometimes, MAAAYBE, for composite charts. Maybe.) But for natal astrology, it's really a personal preference, but I just find the cleanliness of Whole Signs so useful and meaningful. Do you feel like a Capricorn rising? Is that why this matters to you? (I ask because there can be something else in your chart that is making you feel that way. There usually is! That's the beauty. Anything that is REALLY important will be repeated several times over. It won't be just one single thing that will be like *wow life changing*. It'll be more like layers of similar themes.) Like for Capricorn--that Saturn.

Having Uranus in the 1st house is a trip, ain’t it Denisse?! 😅👽. In relationships, at work we are contrary for the sake of being contrary, haha. Having to conform or groupthink is like (insert worse kind of torture) to me. I have no respect for authority or people who “THINK” they have it over me (internal LOL). I’ve always had issues with authority or being told what to do even tho Saturn is close behind my ascendant...but my 1st house Jupiter is very open minded and jovial and lightens up my Scorpio Asc a bit....it’s pretty confusing and contradictive to say least. And I’m gonna be THAT GUY again...with so much “action” of planets happening in my 12th/1st/2nd houses and my Ascendant potentially...the type of house system one uses makes a HUGE difference. Like using Placidus vs Whole vs Equal changes my planets houses entirely.... I know your ascendant and 12th/1st houses are busy with a lot of action...so do you use only Whole signs exclusively and why not the others...based on your knowledge/studies?!

I only use Whole Signs, and I really see that the meanings of the houses kind of bleed into each other anyway. . . so even though people FREAK over this, it's really not a remarkably different stretch in meaning. Like for example, a planet coming before your Asc is still in its shadow side. It's on the more '12th house' side--subtly. So there's this bleeding of energies and not so clear cut. Where do you draw the difference between your internal wiring and your personality? Your psyche and how you show up in the world? The two are related. The 12th and the 1st. Then, for the second, well that's what you value and what resources you have. That's also related to the first in this subtle way. (And the reason I stick to Whole Sign, even more so as I continue my studies of Jyotish, I see that the ancients considered the planets to affect the sign AND the sign to affect the planet. I realize there are very strong arguments that are more mathematical and astronomical for the other house divisions--but alas. I am a Sagittarius. . . with a Capricorn rising. And my Capricorn rising not only likes tradition but also likes cleanliness and order. And you have to admit it's so orderly. Whole Sign. :P
