The interview process can be very intimidating and scary, but with preparation and some tips you can hit a home run!
here are the cliff notes:
There is a lot covered here but be sure and practice interviews with friends and family before going on your first one. the more you practice the better your chances.
Do a search for "HVAC interview question" and you will find a ton of them!
Get to the location 30 minutes early but don't go in until 15 Minutes before your appointment. ( you are being watched regardless so don't do anything crazy or strange) put your phone on silent
Stand up straight, put a smile on you face, and remind yourself you are valuable and show some confidence.
Greet the receptionist with a smile and positivity, but don't interrupt. Introduce yourself yourself and say you have a meeting with _____ at ___:__.
Be prepared to fill out an application.
Keep all conversations positive professional and don't volunteer too excessive information.
Even if they are very late calling you, be relaxed and patient.
When your called, introduce yourself with a firm handshake while looking them in the eye.
Thank them for the opportunity to meet with you.
Have additional resumes for everyone in the room
Make notes of the important information they provide.
Ask questions you have already researched.,
whey did you leave your last job, :looking to get started in the trade, My dream and goals are to become an HVAC technician!!!!!!!
Do not bad mouth your previous employer no matter how bad it was, they don't want to know.
If you do not know the answer say " I do not know the answer but I can look it up on my phone or find the answer tonight and wright the question down. DO NOT LIE or BS!!!!!
At the end ask them if there is anything that would prevent you from getting the job. If they said yes, clarify them, offer solutions or ask if there is a bridge.
If not the ask for the next interview or even better ask when you can start.
If your working be sure to allow time to provide your notice.

I just graduated hvac school in the first quarter of the year and I am very grateful for these recent videos Ty. It’s like you knew that I am looking for my first hvac job, lol. But seriously, I’ve been watching your videos for a little over a year now and you have been an invaluable source of information and passion for me throughout and I want to thank you for doing what you do. I know that I will be successful in my career and part of that is because of you and others like you. Keep doing what you do, and I hope to be able to thank you in person some day. I’m fine with silence but I can’t help laughing (maybe I’m not actually ok with silence) but hopefully I can lock in for my interview 😅

Hey buddy, your tips are good for very low levels jobs. Remember you are talking to HVAC technicians we should be like a gold value they need us we don’t need them!

Thanks for the patience with these entry level videos. I realize they are not for my typical viewers. I talk to a lot of students and I'm in multiple student groups. I see a big generational gap between new work force and the current work force. I'm trying to bridge gaps on both side starting with the gen Z first. We do need new need new people in the trades as many are retiring out. Gen Z is not only expected to be the largest workforce but also the largest customer base. I will also be making some videos geared towards current techs preparing for the gen Z customers and workers. After Jen Z gen A or gen Alfa is currently in school and still ending studied.

4:16 - I would add here: raise your eyebrows. Even if a forced smile makes you look nervous, raising the eyebrows will mask any uneasiness you're experiencing (not to mention physically raising your eyebrows does something to your internal emotions - it's like magic!)
