Sharing our infertility story was a personal and difficult choice... but we hope that by sharing our day-by-day journey through IVF and ICSI that it gives people more understanding, and possibly even support to those that may be going through a similar journey. BACKGROUND + OUR FERTILITY FACTORS
My husband (31) and I (30) both live in Sydney, Australia, and have been trying to conceive (TTC) our first baby for 12 months prior to seeing a Fertility Doctor. This is our First IVF Cycle and we opted to do both IVF and ICSI. I have Premature Ovarian Ageing and Endometriosis and my husband has a Sperm Morphology Factor affecting our fertility.

IVF is hard. My wife and I lost twin boys at 5 months. They lived one hour. We had 6 miscarriages in a row. We were down to our last 3. We put 2 in and got twins. A boy and a girl. We spent 35k and lots of heartache. My wife and I regret not getting checked out earlier in our marriage. We waited till 36 to have kids. The plans were to have kids in our mid 30s. My kids are 8 now. We spend all of our time with them. I never understood how people have kids and do not want them. It used to break my heart when we would get sonograms and the nurse would tell us people would abort their kids when they found out it was not the sex they wanted. Don’t give up! I almost did and told my wife we should just adopt. My wife pleaded one more time. Glad I listened.

Thanks for sharing your story with us. The hardest is being alone through any infertility hell. We've been trying for a baby for years and years. Two years ago we started on clomid, got pregnant on cycle 3 but miscarried at 6 weeks . I needed medical management. Had more cycles but no luck. Started IVF. Was going well - lots of eggs, some viable embryos, one implanted and 1 in the freezer. But then disaster struck and I got severe ovarian hyperstimulation. I was in hospital for a month and got very, very sick. It was terrifying. And at the end of it all I miscarried again, another one that had to be induced and it was particularly grim. I was off work for so long they decided to get rid off me..I was on the mend. I was hating the way I looked. My sis in law and another of my best friends announced their pregnancies then. I was surrounded by babies and pregnant ladies. It just seemed so easy for everyone else! I felt so split down the middle each time a new pregnancy announcement was made! Half of me was genuinely happy and excited and wanted to be involved. The other half was so sad and jealous and heart broken and simply didn't want to hear about any of it. My husband has always been amazing. I couldn't ask for any better. We did finally succeed with treatments abroad, at BTC, but this entire path shouldn't have to be this difficult..No one deserves..

Thank you for sharing this. While we may think we're not being brave, we are and thank you for your bravery. I too am facing IVF, I lost my ability to conceive naturally due to an IUD that caused PID which lead to the loss my tubes. I'm trying to gain the courage to start IVF after two surgeries this year to get my uterus in "proper" condition. I am so sorry. What you are describing is exactly how I felt after my miscarriage. How the feelings of defeat and sadness overwhelm you when you think about telling your parents and close friends that the cycle failed (or in my case, that I had "lost" the baby). But you know, you will feel better once you tell them because you will receive so much support from them. And it gets better, with time, we accept that this has become our story and our reality. There are so many ways to become a parent nowadays.. remember that our story is not over yet! We will look back sometime and this will only be a bad memory, we will have our family and this will be worth it! I hope you find strength and comfort!

I'm came across ur video on ur IVF journey video when I search by the key word 'IVF'. I'm like u, I goong thru my first cycle of IVF and same as u, jist days before the pregnancy blood test, my period came. My world fall apart immediately and I can't control my tears. The journey is so hard and yet things dun turn out to what I wish for. I'm so lost and been crying secretly cause I dun wanna my husband to get upset too as I know he is putting a strong self infront of me to support me. By the time i am watching this video you are already having success in your 4th IVF cycle congratulations, really very happy for you guys...... we have been married for 5 years now and still going through the pain of infertility.. We have gone through multiple observation cycles and done two IUI's so far with no success.. Unfortunately we are not financially strong enough to afford IVF may be i can spend for one cycle but if that is a failure i will loose all my savings that i have made so far so i am in a very bad shape now still in a dilemma about whether or not to do IVF... Just hoping that one day it will be alright.....

I’m so sorry you are going through infertility I know how it feels and it sucks. Me and my husband have been trying for another baby for over 5 years with no luck. I also have a low ovarian reserve because I am 43 so i know all about it. I just did my first ivf cycle In may only got 1 embryo. Transferred in august and unfortunately it failed. So now I have a new job at Amazon and they have awesome fertility benefits. I had to wait for my period to start and it finally did today. So I go in tomorrow for my baseline ultrasound and blood work. So hopefully this round will work for me and your ivf cycle works for you . Good luck

I did many rounds of ivf before i finally got my BFP and I felt as though i gave up because i had no support. Stay strong, I would suggest firstly, you try another fertility clinic. Egg transfer is a skill and varies from one fertility clinic to another. Secondly, I'm a bit surprised only 5 eggs was retrieved which is low for an ivf. It means the FSH stimulation was not sufficient I would tmagine. In my case we had 22 eggs and 17 was fertilized. Try another fertility clinic, they might have a different treatment plan and medication for their ivf protocol

I feel your pain as I am you. I had 4 follicles . 3 retrieved . Only one fertilized with icsi. The second one didn’t fertilize and the fourth egg they said was abnormal. Prayers that my one is the golden egg. I am not able to do another IVF due to $. I’m 39 and DOR as well.

I completely get where your coming from. I have been trying since November last year and have done IUI cycles with letrozole, letrozole on its own cycles, and now I will be doing ivf. I have been feeling almost suicidal the last fortnight because I keep seeing negative on every pregnancy test every month. It’s hard. Hi Annie, this video just made me cry. I am heart broken. But girl i must say you are strong to inject yourself in tummy. I have a few questions or concerns about injections. I have quite a problem with my heart beat specially in panic moments. it goes super high and i end up dozing off even in my periods.
