*1st line into operation* 3 alarm house fire in Uxbridge, Ma 2013

Calls for a possible brush fire in the area turned into a raging inferno as firefighters arrived to find this 2 sty house fully involved.
Nobody was home and there were no injuries. A tanker shuttle had to be established because there are no hydrants in the area.

It was a good thing that no one was home at the time of the fire, having been a volunteer firefighter in a small town, I well know the issues with water problems. Thank you to all firefighters everywhere for protecting the citizens of your coverage area.

That was a bad situation nothing to do it was gone before you left the station! Glad no one was hurt and prayers for the family!

With the difficulty that communities all across the Nation are experiencing recruiting and retaining volunteer firefighters, not to mention those cities that can afford full-time professional staff, it seems to becoming increasingly evident that some sort of Federal/State professional fire service needs to be considered to help fill in the gaps. One wonders if such a possibility has ever been considered. Obviously there is a fire service that battles wildfires, so why not places where there are people and properties that require greater protection? Such a beautiful home reduced to ash. Very sad...
