My fireteam must of been made the same day as yours. Not only was the motor location-lock screws locked with a gallon of lock tight, my center diff is so locked up that I had to cut the screws off of it as well. Without converting the screws to a flat head, the only other thing that works is welding a metal rod to the top of the screw. You basically use the metal rod as a breaker bar.

Yeah as you can see my “studio” lol is my dining room table welding isn’t a option for me heck I’m lucky I got the dermal but yeah did your diff fluid look used I’ve owned a few new rc an I always do this an I’ve never opened a new diff that looked like that I just got a bunch of carbon fiber from BASHERQUEEN an a servo I’m getting ready to the 1st upgrades to it I’m also installing a rear aluminum bulkhead next part to upgrades will be the aluminum upgrades from m2c

Hey buddy to get those motor mount screws out or any tough screw and that's use a soldering iron and put the tip on it for 1-2 min if that. It's great because you can concentrate the heat right on the small area/space. Especially being around alot of plastic. I promise you screws like that will give you no trouble if you do that trick. Plus if you don't happen to have one they can be grabbed on Amazon or harbor freight for $10-15 bucks. You won't believe how good it works!

Yeah been there done that the little torch is way better in my opinion
@cwatson42785
@cwatson42785 Жыл бұрын
@RC4us Surprising to hear that as I used to use a pen torch and found the soldering iron work more effectively but to each there own, whatever works better for you. Sometimes the torch is tough to get into tight, cramped places and is always next to or up against plastic parts. I've gotten off red lock tite screws with the soldering iron. Maybe it depends on the iron, tip choice and how long you keep the iron on it. All that matters is getting it off in the end that matters anyway lol

@@cwatson42785 I use to use 1 a long time ago an I still do have one an sometimes have to but being a mechanic for 30 years I like the heat wrench better it’s faster an more to the point but regardless the point was sometimes heat doesn’t help a screw is stuck/stripped an I cut them with a dermal like a flat head that’s what I was trying to get across
@cwatson42785
@cwatson42785 Жыл бұрын
@RC4us Yeah yup, and especially most the screw heads are super soft and strip so easily. Sometimes the dremel can't be avoided no matter how hot it gets with how soft some of the metal is.

Yeah I have shatter proof glasses an guards that slip on the arms to protect the sides tho I never use them an idk y I had a splinter of metal stuck in my b4 from grinding metal an when I was a kid trying to build a skateboard ramp I got a wood splinter stuck on inside of my eyelid that was actually over a thanksgiving holiday lol I guess I never learn

That's odd. One of those screws in my Fireteam came out the box with a to big hole. A 2 & 1/2 mm was to small and would almost spin and a 3mm wouldn't fit in. The other screw was perfect and easily removed.

I think thats the color diff oil they use. Almost like its silicone oil and a little grease mixed in. Like a special formula/mix. Also about those type of screws are great! That nice deep head will never strip. I fiqured that out recently when my motor came loose on my dbxle and I thought about that type of head and got some stainless steel ones at the hardware store cheap. At hardware stores you can get any size cheap as they sell them individually and can get a bunch for alot of trucks

Yep I’m pretty sure it’s the only one that ARRMA makes with that from the factory you would think the EXB models would have one I put the lsd diffs in aluminum cases in my KRATON 6s exb after adding the power the screws kept coming lose holding the crown gear to the cup

@@RC4us Yeah. It tells the number of comments. But if you add them up one is missing. I was just explaining how the same thing happened to me. @@RC4us I had one strip from the factory as well. Those socket head cap screws are a must. I get my screws from McMaster. You can usually get a box of 100 for around $10. Get the alloy steel 12.9 grade. Nice vid! It did have a link in the original message but maybe that was the reason it was removed.
