Last week I went undefeated and won my OTS Store Championship in Cagliari (Italy) playing Red Dragon Archfiend Resonator! It was a small tournament, but I only played against meta decks like Unchained, Spright, Infernoble and Despia.
In this video I go over my choices, explaining in detail what I think should be the focus of the strategy, and different lines to play around handtraps with maximum efficiency.
The Crimson King structure is an insane product for anyone looking to have fun with a complex midrange/combo deck, and it also includes almost everything you need to build it at a competitive level. Last but not least, it's a must have for every fan of the 5'ds Anime since it's entirely dedicated to one of its main characters: Jack Atlas.

Thank you for sharing your deck profile. I haven't played the TCG in almost 17-18 years ( although I've been playing the online versions ). Was upset that one of my Structure decks is missing a copy of the Crimson Resonator.. Looks like I will be fine even if I only have two HAHA!

Grazie per i complimenti! Come detto nel video, il mazzo è costituito da carte che avevo già o che ho potuto recuperare tra il giovedì e la domenica dell'evento: da qui l'assenza di Prosperity, Lubellion, Daruma Cannon ecc Riguardo i Bystial: il problema principale del mazzo è poter continuare a giocare quando prendi un ht su Soul/Bone, oppure su Red Rising e non arrivi ad avere Crimson sul terreno/accesso a Vision. In nessuno di questi scenari i Bystial ti aiutano ad avanzare il tuo gamestate, e, anzi, in molti di questi non puoi neppure evocarli. Puoi usarli efficacemente solo quando stai già giocando/avevi accesso ad altri pezzi di combo. Inoltre, Vision + Bystial, Crimson + Bystial ecc non danno accesso a nessuna combo. Li giocherei considerandoli come non-engine, qualora fossero forti nel formato

Maybe I’m missing something but in the combo you were mentioning about playing around Nib. But wouldn’t they just Nib you on resolution of Crimson effect at 18:23?

@Bluemoy I wanted to ask. How does the deck change with sweeper around? I made a new combo with the deck that enables us to not use our NS. 2.5 combo- and plays around droll. Do you think we could increase the deck size with sweeper around now?

Sorry for the late reply. I haven't touched Sweeper yet, but I might do it soon since we finally have a release date. I don't think we will increase the deck size, since we lack extenders currently. To try to solve this issue I have included the Wanted/Diabellstar package, and I will release a profile in the following days

@@bluemoy Just saw your sinful spoil combo video. I was able to figure out a cheaper alternative than the spoil package. You are locked into synchros but we don’t really care about that. Though other than that it does the same thing but doesn’t care about nib. I included sweeper within the profile that I have and it’s worked out quite well. Well I do like the idea of the sinful package. I’m not sure if I can justify its pricing.

I'm testing 2 copies of it instead of small world,at my sight it's a good card. It increases the number of bone archfiends in the deck,which is essential since the only access that we have are soul and foolish. Good starter and extender as well, not that good goind 2nd but I'm already playing 14 flex spots in a 40 card deck. If you have prosp you may wanna play it instead of small world/void apocalypse/stone sweeper

Prosperity è ottima perché, oltre ad aggiungere consistenza e aiutarti a vedere i board breaker quando vai secondo, ti garantisce di avere delle bannate, che rendono vivo l'effetto di Dis Pater. Fenrir di main va in conflitto con Crimson Resonator, che è il motivo principale per cui giocare il mazzo. Lo mettevo dentro da secondo perché, se ti prendi D-Barrier, pur avendo tanti board breaker non riusciresti comunque a ribaltare. Crossout può essere un' idea, simile a come la usa Purrely

@@zepphoOvviamente Fenrir lo evochi subito e non usi la special di Crimson. Le plays con Red Rising, post side e going 2nd, sono troppo fragili e, a prescindere da DBarrier, perdono da qualsiasi interrupt sulla board dell'avversario. Farò dei nuovi video con tutte le combo per giocare sotto le Handtrap, paradossalmente Nibiru è la meno efficace!

It's suboptimal, as all the cards that require something specifical just to be activated. If you're able to stick a RDF on field, your opponents spell/traps are probably not a big deal!

Another question though, is there a way to play around getting nibed when the crimson resonator comes back from the red rising and summons the two extra resonators? 18:26, happened to me yesterday and stopped me right in my tracks, didn't get a chance to get the scarred out

Red Familiar è una carta interessante, anche se, pure lui, non risolve i problemi di cui discuto nel video (es: non è un extender); l'utilizzo migliore potrebbe essere ridurre il livello di Kuibelt quando vieni interrotto sull'effetto di Bone Archfiend, per avere accesso a Scarred quando hai Vision in mano. Ma anche lì, significa dover avere Soul+Bone+Vision+Red Familiar. Veramente troppo situazionale. Void Ogre lo trovo proprio mediocre, non c'è mai uno spot in cui vuoi terminare il turno senza carte in mano

Con il suo effetto; la combo partiva da Special Crimson e Normal Arcidemone. Ovviamente devi scartare una carta, ma se per qualche motivo non vuoi o non hai carte in mano, puoi mandare Crimson Gaia dal terreno. Ti consiglio di vedere il video di combo, ne ho mostrato molte di più spiegate passo passo

You start with 5 cards in hand, and if you don't want to discard (or you somehow don't have a hand) you can always send Crimson Gaia from field! Thanks for your support

In this particular combo, assuming that you have nothing else able to contribute to your combo, that's the chokepoint; although, I won't say that is correct, since every access to Supay will end on such a stronger field if you Nib straight away. You can still summon back Bone, bump it to lv5, add back Vision with Gaia, go into Kuibelt, pop opponent's Nib, summon Vision and go into Scarred

Of course, if you avoid Supernova and add Uvualoop with Soul, you can make Scarred + Gaia + Trap even if you gets Nibb'd immediately, with just this 2 combo cards, as I've shown in the combo video

I think it's crazy not playing Crimson at 3. It's one piece of a two card combo which is the strongest end board possible with the fewest cards. It's also a fantastic discard for Supay. Also, how are you making Calamity in your opponent's turn?

That's true, but at the same time it's not a starter on its own, it doesn't help you play through handtraps, and opening with just Resonators (for example: Crimson + Soul) doesn't add anything to your boards (either going 1st or 2nd) and neither allows you to extend your plays if you get interrupted. The balance between Tuners and Non-tuners its definitely something that needs to be improved

You don't make Calamity on your opponents turn with the Pure build. You can summon him pretty easily on Turn3 to shut down your opponent's interruption and pretty much guaranteeing an Otk

If you want to have a competitive deck you can't play cards that are only good going 1st. We're fine with just Red Zone. Fiendish golem would only come up if you get stopped on Bone Archfiend on field and you have access to Vision; then you can make Hot-Red + Golem

This Is a list from a year ago, when Kashtira Ariseheart was still in the format. With Small World you had an easy access to a Kaiju, being both a removal and a card that made Arise trigger (making Talent and Thrust live)

That's an irrelevant effect, also you can't do anything with lv 1's tuners, and if you can already go into high level synchros, you're probably just fine. Synkron is the worst to draw
