Thank you so much for your reaction. I get a thrill out of seeing people discover Dimash for the first time. I noticed the gentleman say 'two voices' and I immediately thought of Marcelito Pomoy. However, Dimash doesn't only have command over low and high notes. He does everything in between with absolute conviction. You said it sounded like a war song. You don't know how close you came with that guess. It was written for Dimash for the Winter Olympics in Minsk so yeah, the song is all about getting people fired up. I know I break out in a sweat every time I hear this song. Oh, another thing. He'll be the first one to say he's not an opera singer. He's more neoclassical but even that isn't strictly accurate. You simply can't put Dimash in a box. He'll croon you into a puddle with a touching love song, have you in tears with another and then suddenly have you getting your dancing shoes on. If you continue on this journey (which I truly hope you do), you'll see what I mean. Time literally stands still for me while I'm watching him. And he's such a great storyteller too even when you don't understand the lyrics. Much love from South Africa.
