I feel that they casted the wrong person for the production: the piece is for a turner/jumper, not for a flexible/tender dancer

I have to say the same - POB receives a lot of hype, but I've seen much better productions elsewhere.

I don’t mean to be rude to the dancer, I’m sure she is a wonderful dancer but this variation is definitely not working for her. The last diagonal looks horrendous, even though her arms aren’t specifically stiff, her whole body is and it’s clear to see that it is difficult for her, which for the audience takes the pleasure of enjoying a beautiful variation away.

J'adore l'opéra-ballet. Mais nous sommes tous fatigués du non-renouvellement du répertoire. Toujours la même chose. En revanche, il y a de moins en moins d’étoiles. C'est vraiment dommage. La direction de José Martinez n'est pas l'une des meilleures

Paris Opera Ballet is disappointing me here ! And it's not the ballerina's fault, she's surely a great dancer, but this variation is definitely not working with her... This is a hard variation indeed, but this one was very slow, and her movements were erratic, especially at the end, clearly showing that it was very difficult for her... The 1rst shade variation is for a turner and jumper dancer, not for a flexible one. It is like she tried to hide her difficulty jumping and turning with her flexibility. And her jumps were low ! And please, the costumes 😢 Too bad for the ballerina who still did her best, but this variation wasn't for her!
