Join us in our conversation with a first time visiter to Efteling from the US. We took a first timer all around Efteling, get a good impression of the park and tips and tricks for planning your trip.

I’m American and I came across Efteling a few years ago when I searched for the world’s greatest dark rides beyond Disney and Universal parks (which I absolutely love, but Efteling seems to stand apart in its uniqueness and craftmanship). I haven’t been to Efteling yet, but it’s highest on my list! I agree with everything Carmen said about planning in advance and spending multiple days to get the fullest experience. I’m trying to learn some Dutch phrases as well!

Wow, another traveler from Florida! I am OBSESSED with De Efteling and I am planning a trip for next spring (God willing). I am absorbing all the content I can to learn as much as possible. @@DutchThemeparkNetworkNL october, the fall colors were especially nice in efteling, while it was rainy my second day at efteling it didn't bother me much and added to the ambience I think

Lines and crowds were minimal, I went on a Tuesday, Wednesday though

I guess that Americans have the same nostalgic feelings with Disney as much as the Dutch have with Efteling. And you don’t go to Efteling for the biggest, or fastest, or highest rides. De Efteling are story tellers. And it shows.

That is a correct statement. Efteling could use a real thrill though. What would you love to see in the park?

Now that the Efteling has a permit to build to a height of 60m, it would be great to see an Intamin mega or a Mack hyper/mega (or a B&M if those rides would prove to be too intense). A well themed Vekoma flying coaster like (F.L.Y) through the woods would be cool as well

We were supposed to be there last month, but family issues sidetracked our trip. Hopefully we will be there in Aug 2025, sometime after we visit Epic.
