Everyone thought he agreed to join No Mercy late because he was promised that he will debut, but IM said that is not the case. Also they were still bitter over the elimination of one of the rappers when IM was introduced to them. The producers said they made a mistake in eliminating a rapper so they are getting a new one. So they feel that it didn't make sense to eliminate 1 rapper from them as well as getting a new one when they can just recall the rappers that were eliminated.

+Nancy Nguyen No Mercy is a survival competition for Starship boy trainees. They were competing to debut in Monsta X. Monsta X wasn't created until after No Mercy, since it was the deciding factor of who got to debut. #Gun was apart of No Mercy but unfortunately he didn't make it to the final cut. The 7 members that won and got to debut in Monsta X are Jooheon, Kihyun, Shownu, Minhyuk, I.M, Hyungwon, and Wonho I hope this clears things up

I was really sad knowing that Yoohno was eliminate, but at least I.M is good, and i don't know if people is gonna hate about this but, i really wanna see Yoosu, Minkyun, Kihyun, Minhyuk, Kwangji and Yoonho in a WINNER kind of group, like hip-hop/ballad kind of group, because i don't really see them in a Hip-Hop group like, BTS or Block B (and i'm not biased, Kwangji and Minkyun were my favorite member/Bias), but Jooheon, #Gun, I.M, Shownu, Wonho, Seokwon and Hyungwon, really stick with the Hip-Hop concept, this is just my opinion, and i'm really happy to see that I.M is more relaxed now with the guys, and the guys are more open with him, i was really afraid that he was not gonna fit the group because just seeing him rap and in this chapter laughing he is placed in 3rd in my list of favorite member 1st Hyungwon, 2nd Woonho and 3rd I.M 😊. Rewatching this, I can see what Jooheon meant during Monsta X's truth talk in 2017 when he mentioned that Wonho acted like a real hyung (with authority and influence) before debut and didn't become laidback and more personable until after debut.
