I honestly think that Tails should be swapped with Sonic. Tails has more of a heart of Gold personality, whilst Sonic is a bit more of a loose cannon. Of course that is not enough to make him anywhere near evil for sonic, but I feel Tails would always try to use methods that minimise damage and danger whilst the blue blur would not so much due to cockiness and being impatient which are his personality traits.

If I were you, I would NOT group Team Chaotix all into one. Like, despite being a team, those 3 are on whole different leagues of morality. Charmy is very naive and innocent, and honestly could probably go up there with Cream, maybe a bit lower. Espio could probably go right where you put him, and Vector would most likely go a few spots lower seeing as he's as greedy as he is.

The bee boy is just a little rowdy. Now Vector is the very reason they economically struggle. Most sources tell the lead detective always accept work for free if their clients are in extreme circumstances and cannot pay. Say, he is literally generous to a fault. But will otherwise be happy to go for well paying customers as he dreams of riches, rather than being plain greedy. Hence his extreme reaction when, in Heroes, such payment was nothing more of a lie. I find the team positioning fine.

I feel Amy should be much higher, at least above Sonic Something that defines Amy, even more than her crush on Sonic imo, is her compassion and ability to see the humanity and kindness in something non-human, or non-organic. You mentioned her talking to Shadow and Gamma, but what's more is she steps in the middle of Sonic and Gamma during their fight, placing herself physically between them even if it's a risk, before Sonic is about to destroy him, because she knows Gamma is capable of good. Sonic even says he "doesn't get it". She was really the only one willing to talk to Shadow who didn't have ulterior motives (like Rouge), and even reminded Shadow of Maria. In the Sonic Mania Aventures series, she cleans up Metal Sonic and brings him back to Eggman, even though he kidnapped her not that long ago. She's willing to help Silver find who he's looking for, no questions asked the second she meets him (at least until she finds out it was Sonic, and that he was meaning to kill them, which Silver never told her he was planning to do to the person he was looking for either), and then goes off to save Princess Elise. All this and she doesn't have any powers like the others. She can't run fast (and even when she can, it's not as fast as the others), she can't fly, etc. She's just a normal person/hedgehog with an even stronger sense of justice, morality and compassion than possibly even Sonic.

a word about shadow, this might be a long comment; ive seen many descriptions of shadow saying he’s violent and dismissive, which is an overstatement to say the least. it sort of contradicts what he was set out to be following adventure 2 1) the most violent shadow’s been seen was his means during battle, e.g hitting silver, against infinite and his overall style. apart from that, he’s been shown to actually be rather ‘cool’. he doesnt pick fights unless he believes it’s necessary, and often wraps things up quickly. ive never seen shadow pick a fight that sonic or silver wouldn’t have in that situation. 2.) on that note the modern interpretation of shadow is definitely a player in this shift in the character; shadow is a loner, and he’s definitely cold, but ‘dismissive’ almost implies apathy. going out of his way to save rouge twice, go out of his merry way to help both sonic and silver, showing concern for metal sonic, advising amy to be careful during his own game and even citizens in 06 town missions, shadow is compassionate, but a big part of him is just that he doesnt show it unless he has to. the sonic x anime and 06 i think show both sides of him very well. when misguided and lost, he can be driven to aforementioned acts of violence, and then some, at his worst, but only when he thinks he’s doing good. 06 portrays a since matured shadow who wants to do right by everyone. i appreciated his wise personality, and as a voice of reason and calm rather than an angry destroyer as of late (though the boom iteration can be entertaining) while shadow isnt perfect, or a saint by any means, i would have personally put him a little bit higher on the list, but i agree with his placement when looked at it from that perspective

I personally feel that the Deadly Six should swap with Eggman since they tried to destroy an entire planet when one man enslaved them. An additional character is Eggman Nega, who is similar in that he wants to destroy the world because of Eggman (though more from finding him an embarrassment than revenge, making him slightly more evil than the Deadly Six, as it’s even more petty) I love the Sonic series, but problem I have with it is the lack of consistent baddies. Aside from Eggman and Metal, each villain will reform, die, or just leave the scene. I guess that’s why I like Zavok and Nega more than most people. Overall, this was a good list. I hope to see a Mega Man list one day

Finally someone acknowledging Infinite (I agree with his ranking BTW, just above the being of pure evil, a god of destruction and a murderous Alien), probably more intimidating than Eggman, although Shadow was the cause for him to become Infinite (I.e taking the phantom ruby) with a round kick... Sega botched him unfortunately, I hope for redemption for him (the fact he wasn't a Super Sonic the final boss is rather disappointing to me).

I'd argue that Sonic should be a bit lower on the list. After all, Sonic tends to focus down on the problem without putting much mind to the damage done in the process, and usually runs off, leaving someone else to clean up his mess, as seen at the end of SA1 and Forces, and arguably CD, if the future references suggesting Bad Future to be canon are to be believed. His tendency to do thing his own way with no patience for others thoughts causes some issues, primarily in SA2, where instead of trying to clear the misunderstanding between him and shadow, and working with GUN to stop the bad guys, he actively fights against the military and spend the entire game as a wanted vigilante

Here's my take on what 1-up Binge would likely think of as a total villain. The final boss of star allies along with maybe gooey, would arguably end up in the exact same place, as they are the pure embodiment of neutrality.While kirby is void influenced by good feelings and dark matter/zero is void influenced by bad, void itself has not been influenced very much to begin with and is only really evil for the duration of it's bossfight. By the end of the soul melter EX battle, kirby's mere presence ends up completely neutralizing it's influence and possibly even tipping it towards good before death. Kirby lore is stupid deep for the game it comes from.

Gamma actually was powered by a bird who was close to the bird in amy's story, and seeing that bird was the primary cause of his revolt. Being a hardcore Sonic fan, I'd like to object. I think that Cream should be NO 1 on the list because of her nice nature, going to save her kidnapped mother in Sonic Advanced 3, calling everyone 'MR' or 'MRS', and e.c.t. Next should be Maria. Although she did comfort Shadow in his time on the A.R.K and sacrificed her life for Shadow, she did raise Shadow the Edgehog, who, might I add, used fricking GUNS in Shadow the Hedgehog and made an agreement with Eggman to blow up the Earth. Then, third, would be Chip. Admittedly, Chip is a pure soul, but Werewolf Sonic is VERY... how do I put it, INSANLY STRONG AND CREEPY!!, and he worked with the beast. (everything else is good tho)

It’s nice to know that Team Dark is no longer portrayed as villains in the Sonic universe, I think there was even one time when Shadow gave supportive advice to the main character in the Rio Olympics on the 3DS. (Shout-out to the Channel ThePJShow for this information as well) I used to like Sonic as a character because he's an example of someone who just... Really don't got character development but still works effectively. Because he knows when it's time to stop joking around and get serious. He fights by his own *Beliefs* of what's good, he just does whatever he really gotta do. A good example is Sonic and the Dark Knight (If I said that name right) where he had his cutscenes with the dark queen who wanted a world and her kingdom to last forever however the draw back is everything being shrouded in darkness and evil from the underground if she fully succeeds. Sonic believes this as wrong in his eyes as that a world that doesn't live forever is better than a world that can but is only covered in darkness and corruption. Now why is this so important? Because one can actually argue he isn't doing the *Right* thing. He wants a world to not live forever which is showing this ain't a simple black and white scenario of a protagonist and that's what I love. He is doing this by his own *Belief* of what's right. Another thing in that one game is the fact he gets back up constantly even after his pockets ran. He just kept getting up and fighting again even if the efforts seem not great, he fought because he gotta do what he's gotta do which is what he said. This is showing that he doesn't always have a plan like he a Anime MC with 5000 IQ strategies. This is pure example of Sonic's character. *The sonic we got no only good for bad comedy and terrible one liners. That is the one reason my likability for sonic died ;-;* Same for other characters such as Shadow, Knuckles and Tails. They all got turned to stereotype dead garbage ;-;

I may as well speak of Shadow since he my favorite. This guy had such good writing. Let me explain Shadow isn't a Emo but that depends on what game. The games I referring to are Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes and Sonic 06. These 3 games are good examples Now we gotta remember that Shadow's best friend Maria Robotnik was killed (If I said her name right) which further on he been in a form of stasis until Eggman proceeded to just release him at around the start of Adventure 2. He always seemingly having flash backs of Maria though he sadly mistakes the words of Maria wish which he thinks she ask for revenge on humanity to avenge her. However that isn't the case as his Memories got altered by his own creator which he's called Gerald Robotnik (I hope I ain't butchering these names) who wanted revenge on humanity for what happened to Maria (Grand-daughter). The fact he went so far as to take revenge on humanity means that he really would of done any promise that Maria would of said. That just shoes how deep the relationship is as considering them friends is a understatement. They're best friends at its finest. He did all of this just because he cared about her. It didn't matter what the request was showing that he just wants nothing more but to fulfill a promise she gave as this is something Maria wanted. *I would say simp but let's keep it civil.* When Rouge ask him if he's the real shadow which Shadow responded with the fact he simply didn't care if he was the real shadow as Maria's promise is the realest thing about him. Another is the fact when Rouge proceeds to get the Chaos emerald but is stuck on Prison island as it is about to blow up. She can't escape as she's locked in so that's not happening. But the fact Shadow proceeds to literally have flashbacks of Maria which makes him immediately rush to her rescue as he don't want to make the same mistake again. He isn't a Emo, he isn't Emotionless... The fact he actually *Cares* for people, on top of that with the fact he feels more in a introvert who had a hard time expressing himself instead of being emotionless. He gone as far as to protect the earth to keep Maria's promise man... Oh s--t he actually did, well I be dang. I got more to explain why I like shadow as a character but this can do. Now shadow has became a Emo because of the *Shadow the Hedgehog Game* which is why his stereotype got lead to emo city.

Some of the info about Blaze is off. In 06 she clearly did not know who Sonic was, mainly because her creator wasn't involved with the game so the 06 development team gave her a new backstory. Her comment about a "blue hedgehog" is actually a mistranslated. In the Japanese version she's commenting on a word pun that has to do with naivety. The pun doesn't translate into English, so instead it seems like she's recognizing Sonic. It's best to just pretend that 06 never happened :P

Mephiles, as mentioned, isn't above working together with some of the other characters. And this isn't a competition of who's the best, it's who's the most evil, and I'd say Dark Gaia fits that spot as, since mentioned again, he can't be reasoned with, bargained with, etc. His sole purpose for EXISTING is to destroy the planet and nothing else. Its sorta like Buu from Dragon Ball: Super Buu had more strength in his form, but due to still having a good heart somewhere inside him, it prevented him from being a true menace. Once Kid Buu came out, that pure heart is gone, and all he knows is chaos and destruction. You could still potentially reason with Super Buu, or if you are still a close friend, he wouldn't hurt you (as seen with Hercule who he deliberately missed when he wiped out everyone of the other humans on the planet), but Kid Buu only knows destruction. Its sorta like that, except on a more "evil" scale. You can still reason with Mephiles, and he might keep you around if you prove useful to him, but Dark Gaia won't hesitate to kill you even if you swear undying loyalty to him, simply cause that's not what he's meant to do.

I mean i would also argue Mephiles is worse But not for that reason Instead, i'd argue that Mephiles is more evil because he _enjoys_ the chaos he causes, he does it partly because he enjoys it, and strives to make others suffer Dark Gaia could never break someone's heart so hard like Mephiles could Dark Gaia is indeed like an animal, but an animal acts out of instinct It has no true understanding of suffering and how to inflict it on others Mephiles only "worked" together (more so just manipulated, he never actually did anything to help anyone, he just spouted out words and gave convincing information) In order to make the twist more impactful (And to take the heat off of himself so others are less likely to suspect him as the one pulling the strings) And to be honest, i think someone who seeks to inflict pain and suffering is more evil than someone who merely seeks to inflict death and destruction

Dark Gaia was always the most intimidating boss in any Sonic game! Unleashed as a whole was the only Sonic game where I’ve felt all hope has been lost, especially in the massive scale of Eggman Land/the scariest Sonic level! I know in Forces Eggman has succeeded more than Unleashed, but I’ve never felt that in Forces! The story executed the feeling of lost hope better in Unleashed than it did In Forces! As soon as Unleashed starts, Hope is lost as soon as Eggman outsmarts SUPER Sonic and turns him while the world 🌎 is literally breaking apart! I’ve really felt bad for Sonic in Unleashed while watching him during the painful transformation!
