And there are so many great players that didn't go to college but it's clear Julian has been improving. @@forthedream9224 Yes, but that foot can't touch the ground, otherwise it's a travel, so in order to cancel the travel step by pivot removal, you would have to remove the other foot from the ground, so you must jump in order to prevent that additional travel so to perform a legal play.

@@Asian2706 I read the offical rule, and it states, lifting the pivot foot before (releasing the ball) starting a dribble is a traveling violation. The only time you're able to lift the pivot is to follow through for a pass or shot. At least that's how the rule I read is written. He always gives his opponent space to shoot and by the time they miss, hes recovered stamina enough to get an offensive run. If your left foot is the pivot. You need to dribble before taking off with right step. It’s a travel yet rarely called. You’re essentially taking 2 steps without bouncing the ball.

Is it legal to lift your pivot foot before you release the ball from your hand when in motion to start dribbling? If not, you should replay this video in 0.5 playback and watch both players starts from the pivot foot. Seems like they're both traveling repeatedly. IMO
