Me and my friend went out last month and bought 2 storage units for fun. Found a Glock 17, furniture, a decent MacBook, a coin collection and some other goodies. Total we spent was $780, and probably got about $4k out of it. But man it's a pain in the ass trying to sell everything, not to mention getting everything else to the dump. Easily about 60-80 hours worth of work between buying the units, cleaning everything out, taking everything to the dump, listing items for sale, meeting up with people etc. Not really worth it, but it was fun.
