@@vs4544 As a K6 owner I dont think that chart is accurate. For example if you check with users that has used K6 for a while actually two turns (120clicks) is really nice for V60, sometimes going a bit courser can do miracles
@EspressoHackers2 сағат бұрын
@@vs4544 that table is not accurate at all. If you see the table for K4 vs K6, it's exactly the same. I have both and I can tell you that you don't grind in the same click for any method. And this error is because that table is solely based on the change in microns per click and both K4 and K6 change 16 microns per click. What I wanted to know is the total brew time for both ZP6 and K6 in this test. I think a good way to compare is adjusting to the same brew time, and a second test, trying to get the same taste profile or as close as possible. The reason for the first test is getting a less biased comparison, and the second because the difference will be in particles distribution and in practical terms with any grinder will adjust to our taste, and then my doubt for any grinder is how close they can get to each flavor profile. If both meet the expectations, there's no much advantage to one or the other. You can also do a 3rd test: what's the best coffee you can get from each and compare. The problem in the 3rd is that each grinder will be better for one coffee than the other, however, you provide the answer to what's is the most I can get from each. And of course you can progress to a 4th test: what's the best for 3 profiles of coffee, e.g. a more caramel style, a fruity, and a floral, for example.

I own a izpresso j-max but am considering another grinder strictly for filter. My main question is if you think buying another grinder, such as the kingrinder k6 is redundant or a step backwards to the j-max.
@darylbuenocoffee2 күн бұрын
@@_ssarine well the zp6 is not a step backwards from the j series. In fact the j series may not be able to do what the zp6 can.
@_ssarine2 күн бұрын
@@darylbuenocoffee thanks, but what about the kingrinder k6?
@darylbuenocoffee2 күн бұрын
@@_ssarine i can't really say if the k6 is a stepdown from jmax since i havent really explored a jmax before but knowing that it is an omni grinder too it might be a stepdown yes. I see 1zpresso brand as a more superior brand than kingrinder so if you have the top of thr line grinder from j series then it should be inferior to the k6 at all.
@luiznascimento9873Күн бұрын
Construction wise, 1zpresso is more Premium, but K6 is a solid grinder. I would say that K6 between zp6 and J series , in terms of taste. You can make espresso with zp6 that is a Plus, but I you can go for K séries if you want something more Premium.
@_ssarineКүн бұрын
@@luiznascimento9873 I agree that the quality and build of 1zpresso is high. I use my jmax for espresso, but want a more dedicated filter grinder. I’ve heard wonderful things about the K6, and at that price point it is tempting. I would like a comendante, but I don’t like bottom adjusters. I didn’t realize they were still selling the zp6. It is more than I had wanted to spend and I’ve heard it has high clarity, which I’m not sure that is what I am looking for.

@darylbuenocoffeeКүн бұрын
@@MyNameJim of course this applies to all products not only in coffee. As they say "you get what you pay for" but it actually works in reverse. Since the cheaper ones are actually worse in some aspects there are certain ways to improve their quality specially in hand grinders. For example i have a series called slowfeed test and in that series i actually put grinders in a specific way of grinding to try and avoid certain aspects of the particle size distribution. May it be fines or boulders. I have 5 grinders now in that collection and im working on doing more as time goes by.
