Actually it was ~$25 for six cards...and you could just get a whole set for the cost of 6-7! And $2000 for pack of cards that will be mostly forgotten about in a few years? You could get a really nice vintage set from the 60s/early 70s for the cost of just two of those packs! SMH...I just don't get it...I just don't get it...

@@CleezyanaJones Immaculate is really nice as well. I don't know man, these just seem way overpriced. Maybe Jabs just got a terrible batch but nothing crazy was pulled out of this case and it was expensive as hell. A lot of people dont like Panini because of the logo's. I think Panini Flawless, National Treasures and Immaculate are beautiful cards.

Unfortunately, the bubble will burst again with sports cards. Thanks to all of the loaded investment speculators ruining the hobby again. Then they will all move to another hobby or collectible to ruin once the demand goes away again soon.

And Fanatics will have wasted millions getting the exclusive license and giving the MLB a piece of the company to boot. Even more if they get the NFL and NBA as well. 5 years from now the hobby will be worth a fraction it is now if the bubble bursts, which it most likely will. And without the name recognition Topps brings it will push a lot of the long time collectors out as well further driving the hobby down. I see bad times ahead for sports cards but hopfully Topps can get the license back if it does for a fraction of the price because I don't want any baseball cards if they don't carry the Topps/Bowman name.

I agree. I've been doing this Hobby for 50 years. I was there in the 90s when they Saturated the Hobby. And there are more Cards released now than there was then. There werent Walmarts and Targets and Walgreens in every town in America. You bought the cards in the 90s at Drug Stores, HILLS, Ames and off of Dealers. There were only a couple of boxes on the shelves at a time. Now the Shelves are full of these boxes even though they sell out in hours. I refuse to pay these high prices. They've even rose the Blaster Boxes from 20 bucks to 35 bucks and you dont get squat.

Most newer stuff will tank when people lose interest it happens in anything. Look at stocks, collectibles like comics, a popular first edition book, nostalgic toys for people being able to spend disposable income on etc. Up down and all around. If you're collecting as an investment you're an idiot. I gamble and I definitely enjoy it a lot more then the rush I'd get from a 5k box. 5 grand could be done in one hand at the Omaha table but odds are way tastier and I have more control... I'm able to put my 5 grand or more which I don't sit down for only 5 I usually try to sit at middle buy ins of the table big fish.. so I'm able to get my money in good im perfectly content losing 50% my hands because when I win the other half which i do, more roughly like a lil above 30% I typically get 5 to 8 times my money. If I don't want to gamble which I do almost always when I have a strong hand that I believe is alive and I get 3 times or more my money then I can play safe or more solid traditional and play pure favorites and by the book. Which if you're patient and stick to the plays and keep composure you're fine. Which you guy's prefer lotto tickets, do you like slots? ;) switch to some real good cards with real values and continue to go up and can actually be used and played at home or in huge tournaments for cash prizes ( pokemon is hottest now, and magic the gathering) pokemon sold set one charizard for 300k with other cards being respectful around anywhere 60k, 30k, most 5k and below and rise because kids like cartoons and games more nowadays. Now magic the gathering is growing more and more. No cartoons but its spread virtually almost to every viable platform and its top card broke 500k plus with other cards from its long running game sets easily going anywhere 10k to 300k easy. They have a reserve list and people do invest in it because they know that no matter what those cards will not be reprinted and no matter what they will hold value and only become rarer and rarer( not good for players, great for collectors/investors/asshats). I play pokemon for nostalgia, same as with magic although I play competitive as well and never have had to have any of my money invested besides from winnings, poker for the pure love of numbers/odds and skill of one player versus another or full table or tourney running three days full days till one persons left. Funny enough I enjoy opening baseball cards because I hate lotto tickets and slots but this is my version of it overall when I'm bored and at home in town and wanna gamble. I buy though because I was born in 86 and my parents bought me tons of wax area baseball and I just love the nostalgia of opening a ken griffey jr. again lol. The new autos, inserts, foils, prizms are nice but Jesus they are flooding flooding flooding. I'm sorting my collection and its refreshing to see wax area again to these blah new... then I sort them and wanna burn my eyes. Well enjoy gamblers, collectors and investors. We're all idiots one way or another and have entirely way to much time with no way to use it constructively :) ramble over, smoke another bowl time
