This meditation is composed of 150 repetitions of the mantra Ek Ong Kar Sat Nam Siri Wahe Guru.
We have created this 2.5 hour Long Ek Ong Kar KZbin video to support those who couldn’t join any group for practicing it and may be reluctant to do it on their own without support.

This is one of the most technically correct versions that I have heard - according to my understanding of the teachings. Thank you. Sat Naam Ji, Thanks for sharing your comment. I had the privilege to start my KY classes with Guru Hans Singh back in 1977. But that’s only when I was living in the ashram that I undertook the teacher training in 1982 (teachers where then first generation Yogi Bhajan’s students) I was taught this meditation as part of our daily sadhana. I also had the privilege to be asked by Yogi Ji to come to study next to him in 1984 / 1985 and I used to lead sadhana’s meditations for the Sangat at his House of Guru Ram Das in Los Angeles. Having not shared this before and being on my last mileages, I do it now, perhaps also to justify the “technically correct” you mention in your comment. As an anecdote, this meditation recording along with the video took me 2 days to produce, just before Yogi Ji’s birthday anniversary, while I received the message / intuition to do it (I didn’t thought doing it before), while my other productions could take months to produce (well this 2.5 h video is the most simplistic of all too!). And it happen that’s the most visited (and practiced I hope…) video of all. But due to the size of the file, I can’t upload it on Bandcamp. That’s why if a practitioner wants to have it, he has to contact me directly so I can send it to him. Thanks again, you offered me the opportunity to share more about this meditation. Despite whats happened in the 3ho community with Yogi Bhajan I know you know what I mean...! Im still drawn to this transformational yoga as is works and such a powerful tool to have in my life ! I mean this mantra belongs to the Siri Guru Granth anyways it’s well above and beyond the limitations of Yogi B as a flawed man, 3HO as an organization or any organization for that matter.

Sat Nam jios, it is so sad, that nobody in Germany will offer this meditation to Siri Singh Sahib's birthday now ... He was a very specific being, an avatar, i think, not that person, reduced to a sex-monster... I believe not one word of the dirt campaign to delete all, what he build up! Waheguru ji!

Yogi Bhajan’s birthday was intense chanting for 2.5 hours at 3:45 AM.. tapped into source and felt god love and forgiveness ❤️🙏

This is magnificent! The timing is absolutely perfect and I appreciate the accuracy of the half-breath and short Wahe Guru at the end. That is exactly how Yogi Bhajan taught Long Ek Ong Kar Meditation for our daily sadhana and for the 2 1/2 hour cycle. Goodness, I’m not sure if I’m applying all the bhandas correctly during the chant. But I’m going to keep at it as after the 7 min meditation I do feel tingling on top of my head. 🎉

Siri sounds like “city”. Do what feels right for you. I personally teach this chant with the root lock and neck lock applied.

The diaphragm lock is applied to raise energy higher, but just applying the root lock will achieve the same effect.

Ek Ong Kaar Sat Naam Shri Waheguru. Here Ek, Sat, Shri, Wahe-n and Guru are chanted small. Will You pls tell me why they are focused less. How you set 7 chakras Ek - Lam Ong - Vam Kaar- Rum Sat- Yam Nam -Hum Shri - Aum Wahe-n - ..... ? Guru -OAM.

Veer Ji, you may have read the description by now mentioning the link to the explication of this meditation. That may answer your question regarding the chakras. As for why the sound is less loud on wahe Guru, it's not a requirement, it's just how I felt it at the time of recording. Follow what comes naturally out of yourself.

My legs fall asleep after about a half an hour, even with a pad. Is it harmful to have the legs be asleep for an extended period of time, or is beneficial training? I have heard both points of view.

If you like to suffer pain, stay stuck if the candle put the curtains and house on fire or not being able to help your kid who just crossed the balcony and is now in big trouble, then you may want to ignore your legs when they are telling you something. If you would rather prefer to stay in full control of your capacities, you could move gently a leg for the blood circulation to flow again, then come back to your sitting posture when that’s done, and repeat when needed. At the end of the day, only your own experience will make you decide what’s best for you as we will always find contradictory theories on every questions raised.

Yes that’s the problem with Kundalini Yoga. It’s always “Too” something when it face our limitations. The good thing though is that our limitations are stretchable. If that’s why you intend to do, keep the practice and when you reach your outbreath limit, take a little air in and resume the sound. Surely, not hopefully, you will increase your lung capacity and reach the normal cycle of this meditation without effort. Even being able to go way longer if that was needed, which is not.

Thank you, I have no doubts that I will be able to do this. My problem is fear of neigbors hearing me and it gives me anxiety and then im not able to put in 100% effort because i start thinking what if they are hearing me chant this weird thing... i wish i had people to do this with every day for hours hahaha

I can relate to that. You don’t need to project the sound loud out but focus instead at vibrating it inside. You could develop your lungs capacity this way while making minimum sound. Try to vibrate sound even whispering it. The bhandas can be applied while whispering. Focusing on the inner vibration is the key. You will then be more relaxed regarding your neighbour and the consequence will be a quicker development of your lungs capacity, for your greatest good.

I shall try again! Regardless, I am so grateful for your help. This is just so fantastic! Thanks again for the beautiful recording and the 150 repetitions. This is a big help when I am working on the 2.5 hours of this Long chant before sunrise, just the day when I started.

Thank you very much for this long meditation 😊 I learn kundalini yoga with a teacher since september, I have one lesson in a week it's not enough! I want to respect Yogi Bajhan lessons and this sacred art also I buy " Manuel de kundalini yoga". I read that I can practice this mantra for beginning by myself 2 1/2 hours the morning. And later, when I'll feel ready, I will make complete session with opening mantra, kryas, relaxations... Do you think my method well? And I want to know if Yogi Bajhan sing in your video, real record? Thanks to you! And sorry if my english is approximative, I'm french!

The practice gives the opportunity to the inner teacher to be heard. Listening to your heart and be receptive of your intuition, you will not go wrong.

"I will not go wrong", it is funny as do practice, sometimes see it is not 'I' an example being timing is better, and yet not exactly my choice. Follow heart, well yes and yoga also a science and certain practices, tones etc have certain place. I am asking if the place for this is Kriya and practice or also in background 'safe', I think now we are also connected Linked in.. I have no teacher available, why using youtube, how I miss direct, this is how is right now however, so as you upload practice please advise where possible. Sat Nam. Omm om om

Sat Nam, this version, for some reason, maybe the pitch or the length, I couldn't sustain past 1 hr. After 1hr I felt physically unable to chant as if I had been paralyzed, I also felt intense vibration in my skull and started having visions of aliens. Is this my mind playing tricks, or is it possible to have tapped into something? I wonder if I should stay with this or go back to other versions of Long Ek Ong Kar that don't produce these effects... Will probably stick with yours but wanted to hear your opinion. Sat Naam Rebeca Tera Shiva, that's difficult for me to answer this question as I do not know you. It would be better to ask the kundalini yoga instructor you have classes with if you need to ask someone. What I would suggest is do not beat yourself, do whatever you can and what feels good to you. As far as meditation is concerned, there is a vast variety of available choices. Experiment, watch the result and let your 6th sense decide what to do next, naturally. There is a reality we can't see with our physical eyes. This reality could play tricks to us. Remaining neutral in face of such tricks while not getting involved in them makes them vanish. Our actual work happens on this physical plan while the soul is still attached to the body.

Sat Naam Ji, The short answer is 7’, 11’ or 31’. The longer answer is the videos I produce are for Kundalini Yoga students who already practice under the supervision of an instructor or had experience with instructors in the past and want to extent their practice out of the class context. Your question shows you may not have been taught the basics from an instructor. Engaging Kundalini Yoga without the guidance of an instructor is not something I would encourage, the same way engaging in any kind of activity without training is risky. Having said that, this technique before held secret is spreading more and more and some people get on board by themselves with the help of videos, books, manuals. That shows their interest is strong and are probably protected and subtly guided. If that the case with you, I would encourage you to follow the guidance as close as you can by reading manuals about the basic techniques, watching videos from teachers who have been direct Kundalini Yoga students or Instructors with lots of experience to be sure you get the most accurate instructions. And then, you will gain confidence and practice this meditation 7’, 11’, 31’, 62’ or more according to what you feel / decide.

Thank you Siri Shabad. We used it this morning. Very sweet sound. One thing, though - the pace is a bit rushed. pausing a bit before Siri, and then drawing out the Wahe Guru -or more accurately the hay guru- at the end would be very helpful. I am going to download and edit as well as I can but it would be a lot less work if you would share the tracks with me - with vocals and music on separate tracks. my email is dharam@gongsongs.com

@@sirishabadsingh ji, I don’t need this kind of ‘growth’. I have so many things to do with my time. This chant flows well when done with a two and a half breath cycle. In your recording (please don’t take offense) there is hardly any space for that 1/2 breath. the result is there is no space to allow the flow to happen and energy (Tapa) to distribute. Sat Naam Ji, I produced this track under Yogi Ji guidance 5 years ago. If I misinterpreted some of his instruction, I trust the Golden Chain will correct that, be it through you if you have the time to produce a new one or someone else if the timing is not right for you. I understand you find uneasy to follow this track as it is produced. It should be easy not using it and practice according to your own possibilities. We have to sometime adapt the instruction to fit our specificity. Thanks for sharing your work with the Sangat who read this thread. 🙏🎇🙏

Dharam Gong Yogi, It took me 2 days, just before Yogi Bhajan birthday when I received the message, to create the music, record my wife and my own voice, mix and master the track, design the cover and load it to KZbin. I was guided. I’m sure you also will create your own music, record the mantra with your wife or friends, according to your own understanding of the teaching. I’m sure that will take you less time and trouble than fiddle with a creation that is not yours and copyrighted. Emotionally that would also be much more rewarding for you and karmically way lighter than using the creation of someone else against its will. Hope that will clarify my view on the matter. Sorry if you didn't get my message right from straight away. Looking forward to hear your own creation. With blessings
