I just started using the same setup but with pinto pulley as my primary slack tender and shizl rope slider for second end, many uses as you described but I am also enjoying the advantage of tying into two stems to aid positioning and when using the DMM Captain hook on one end of the lanyard I have the ability to secure with the second end once having made the traverse

Good video mate, the one thing you forgot was to take up the slack on your shoe laces, stop you falling when you are standing on the ground, still a good man onya mate cheers

Thanks Derrick. Is that a knut hitch you're using? I use a 15' lanyard and I was thinking of going shorter and clipping into a prusik, but two things keep me from doing it; I lose the mechanical advantage of ddrt and the remote retrieval aspect. My lanyard does get in the way a lot...maybe I'lll try those clips. THanks again for posting
@countryboypa3110 жыл бұрын
i believe its the michocan (i normally call it the closed blakes. Were a blakes is normally 4wraps up 2. This is 5 wraps up, then up and thru the bottom wrap.) clear as mud? This lanyard is about 15'. You can use up the whole thing just like a normal lanyard, but the option is there to use the other end when needed. The clips are awesome though.
@kenyanoviak766410 жыл бұрын
countryboypa31 wow,you have the main hitch and then two other hitch options...I'll try this out. Also, this is the first I've heard of the shizll...in place of a pruisk minder pulley? I climb as much on my lanyard as I do on my climbing line once i'm in the tree. Thanks for the info!

@ganamide7 жыл бұрын
For the micro prusik I tied a sliding double fisherman's knot using a little over 2 feet of 5mm cord, slid the knot to make a large loop for the prusik and a tiny loop for clipping into a carabiner. It's easier if you use a larger piece of rope and tighten everything really snug before making the final cut.
@arb_hazza53094 жыл бұрын
Does anyone know where I could buy a small prussik or really small eye to eye like the one on the tail end of his line?

@morleychallenged2 жыл бұрын
If your waist-point breaks, you're dangling by your legs or falling out of your harness. if your leg-point breaks, your waist-point is all you've got.

I'm using a scaffold knot, also sometimes called a double fishermans. Great knot, very reliable. That is the best for that application. The anchor knot or the buntline could be used in this application as well.

It's a the wrap prussic with hrc using double fisherman's to create a loop. I tried doing it again and couldn't get it to grab reliably, so if recommend a 4 our 5 wrap prussic
