The headliner event of 2.2, Labyrinth Warriors, is a unique game mode which has a lot of potential for repeatability, making it a good candidate for endgame content. However, the decision to make it a limited time event leads me to believe that fulfilling endgame content will not be coming soon.

@Sukuna Archon Bad argument, Genshin is still a gacha game and they even merged with identity of AAA open world games' traits, so of course comparisons are naturally happens and valid for as long as it's being inducted in civil ways Not so related, but if EN community being generalised as "whiny" by even CN fandoms, then they need to look at mirror that there's also has few representations that almost assassinated Mihoyo's CEO and Execs, they wouldn't want be lumped with the same ilk aren't they? Besides, Genshin has already rolled their banks with 2 Billions USD in a year, that' already humongous and even twice bigger than Apex Legends, so as other points mentioned above, demands for fixing their bad live services to improve is imminent, also out of love for Genshin

@@ohamatchhams Genshin IS an AAA open world?? it is objectively an extremely well-made game, and if you do not think so then you have literally never played a proper video game in your life (much less a completely free game with this much care put into it). the gacha aspect is a side feature, and while that is their monetization system it’s completely optional to spend money or even pull for any characters at all.

They could, on paper, rework the entire Spiral Abyss to add roguelike elements. Adding exploration elements like the Misty Dungeons where you have to choose riskier paths to get the better benediction buffs. What makes it a frustratingly missed opportunity is the fact that the whole Spiral Abyss lore is about a labyrinth-like manifold at the edge of the true Abyss, forming a boundary between it and Teyvat. Furthermore, because of the non-Eucledian nature (doesn't adhere to conventional geometry) of each "corridor", they could've used that as a narrative element to implement procedural generation both independent of, and on top of the half-monthly rotation. There is a skeleton for a lore-infested roguelike environment that could stand the test of time through the Spiral Abyss. It needs to be more than just a DPS-check.

Wanna know what endgame content I want to see on Genshin? An infinite version of the spiral abyss that gets harder and harder. The goal is no longer about how fast you can clear each floor but instead, it is about how long you can last. If it is account trading or selling accounts with a certain character or gear then that is pretty not allowed in Genshin. Mihoyo will take action if someone tries selling an account. 3:07 I know some people have already mentioned this but it is EXTREMELY important to point out that Elysian Realm also started off as a temporary event. only until after many different iterations was it finally added as a permanent feature. frankly these Genshin events seem to also be more of MiHoYo testing the waters to see what sticks and what won’t, and it’s pretty much guaranteed that they’ll add more permanent content to the game later on. tl;dr: this game is barely a year old and MiHoYo loves to experiment with things, let’s just be patient edit: with the release of the event (I’m LOVING it btw) it seems quite similar to those pre-Elysian Realm events, I can say with confidence that they’re definitely testing things out here

@@lucustwyatt1960 I think this is a key part of the problem, too, that's hard to see from a longtime player's perspective. The game actually has a TON of stuff to do if you started today. Sometimes I'm wandering around thinking about how little I have to do outside the daily resin rotations and commissions, but I forget that I was playing the game for a solid four months before first experiencing the feeling that there might not always be things to keep me occupied. And I only reached the point in the last month where I more or less just wait for new content between patches. I know that there are also long-term considerations on how to deal with things like having new players start the game in five years without being daunted by the 100, 200, or even more hours it would take to move to the end of the storyline alone - even with minimal side stuff.

I think the reason why they havent released endgame content is due to Dendro being an unreleased element, Endgame content require some really heavy ballancing and since the game is ballanced pretty heavly by the elemental reactions, i don't think Mihoyo will release an endgame content now while risking having its ballance screwed when Dendro released. this is just an opinion i build from multiple internet interractions, so don't keep our hopes to high

I got burnt out and haven't really played this week. I realized that forcing myself to log in every day to grind commissions and events for primogems isn't really worth my time. My only purpose boiled down to just grinding to unlock the next character, level them up, then rinse and repeat. Even though we do get new events and game modes to mix things up, all of it still comes down to collecting primogems just to unlock/level characters. So sometimes I like to imagine what Genshin Impact would be like if it wasn't a free gacha designed around a microtransaction lottery. I still enjoy Genshin's story, but if there's nothing else to progress for or any endgame to reach, then I don't really have any other incentive to play in between story quests. And I'm not trying to say there's not enough content. In fact, it became really tiresome having to constantly grind for so many events before they ended in addition to my dailies. Genshin just needs to design a new incentive to keep playing aside from just "MOAR PRIMOS AND MATERIALS".

The issue lies and will always lies on what you touched at @4:09 , that this conversation about end game in Genshin always misses. That people will always stop playing a mode if they're not rewarded for it. Yeah sure if they put the mode as a permanent one, people will play it a lot for a few weeks, because they don't really have anything else to spend hours into. But after they have tried all kind of combination, how many would actually bother to continue doing it if it doesn't give reward ? Not a lot, which means the best middle ground is to, exactly like in Honkai, reset rewards each weeks. But what will that accomplish in the end ? Nothing, as it will just become another thing to do to get reward once every week that people will grow bored off in the end. The main problem is people expectation, thay **want** to play Genshin all the time, they don't want to ever stop, but at the same time they don't want to **just** play it, they want to be rewarded by playing it. So in the end, people just want endless rewards, which absolutely clash with how Genshin works as a game, it's simply something that will never happen.

There could be bonuses based on how well you work together. (Ex. Healing enough or doing enough damage, killing multiple enemies in quick succession, multiple reactions, etc.). Anybody trying to make ALL their content and their entire living off a *gacha* game simply is gonna be in for the rude awakening that that is simply not sustainable whatsoever. Go look at content for any other gacha. 90% of the "content" made for them is either people doing mass summon sessions, or doing the same repetitive stages that they always do on a daily basis. There's very little in the ways of variety when it comes to this stuff. And you even said it yourself: "if you give players the ability to grind something in a day, they will" so what genuinely makes you think people won't do the exact same thing with literally anything that gets added into genshin? People will blast through it all in a day, grab all the rewards from it, and then never touch it again since a majority of this playerbase simply can't find any kind of reason to do anything unless it's giving them rewards. And that will apply to any and all forms of permanent content that gets added.

The same reason why roguelikes like Dead Cell and Hades are popular. Enemies are only boring if they are easy to fight like enemies in Genshin overworld. I accepted this fact, and I'm ok with it, gives me more time do spends on others games, because, even if I could play all day, i get tired of just playing one type game. This is what I dont understand people get so worked out. This fandom needs to chill and began to view genshin for what it is, a gacha game with open world mechanics.

This is an idea for a dungeon I came up with while watching another related video, and I decided it would make sense to put this here. You join one of four “adventure teams” and you can play through a random array of enemies in a co-op dungeon against one or all the other teams. First to complete gets 30 primogems, last/other teams if it’s 4 at once instead of 2 get 10 primogems. It would take around ten minutes to do this. You would also get bonuses for doing to most damage in your team or defeating the most enemies, and for the first time you do it every banner (probably a full intertwined fate.) There could also be parts of the domain that includes time trial challenges, like crossing over a gorge of some sort, and you get kicked back if you can’t complete it within the time limit. For the teams that finish early, there will be a bonus challenges rewarding an exquisite chest

Heres what i propose: Introduce a tartarus/mementos form persona type of dungeon but infinite. Basically in this mode you will be climbing a never ending tower with each of its floors being randomly generated and The more you progress the more difficult the dungeon becomes. At first the dungeon will be fairly easy but as you climb the enemies will become tougher and enviornmental hazards will be introduced too(for example one floor could be filled with corrosion while another could have permanent burning grass causing you to take fire damage. You can also encounter special "reaper" type of boss that will spawn and chase after you if you spend too long on a single floor. Itll be insanely strong but if you beat it youll get rewarded generously but if you fail youll be forced back to the first floor. Sneaking mechanic will be available for you to use if you decide to avoid combat, but beating enemies will reward you coins that can be exchanged for items and powerups in stores(one spawns every 10 floors) Last but not least there will be major boss blocking your way every 50 floors that you HAVE to beat in order to progress.

That sounds really cool. They could also put some lore there like Honkai did with Elysian Realm. They could expand more about the past of Khaenri'ah, the archons who participated in the Archon Wars, get to know more about some past legends like Vennessa (the founder of the actual Mondstadt and the Knights of Favonius), or adapt stories that are exclusive to the manga. Like Honkai, Genshin has a lot of lore to exploit.

They have all the elements to make a raid or dungeon in Genshin Impact for endgame players to run through. Look at Destiny, Bungie has utilize mechanics that are found throughout their open world patrol spaces (i.e. passing a ball, standing on the correct plate, defeat x number of enemies to enable a DPS phase on a boss) in their raids. If we do a comparison, the same could be said for Genshin Impact. Roguelike dungeon is definitely a great idea. It was what I had first thought the Spiral Abyss was, until I ran through it for Xiangling and found that it was merely a DPS check on your characters. We have numerous useless domain doors left in the world after you complete them once, they definitely could be repurposed to utilize a roguelike concept. I'll wait and reserve judgment on the upcoming event, but I agree that it should be permanent addition instead of just an event.

The idea I've had this entire time was a Multiplayer Survival Dungeon that gives customization items as a reward. Things like an item that can be used to copy a weapon's appearance to use as a Skin. -Customization will ALWAYS relevant, and with things like weapon skins, it will motivate players to level up, and pull for new weapons, to get the ascended looks. -Survival based gameplay lets players get more bang for their resin. letting players who WANT to sink in some time, do so. -A Dedicated Multiplayer option allows players to be rewarded for fully building their support characters. Now systems would need to be in place to make it accessible for solo players. as wella s things to balance the levels and enemy difficulty. And mechanics like the rouge-lite aspect of randomized powerups could absolutely be added. with each player selecting 1 every few rounds, while the team possibly gets half of the buff they selected. Like its not perfect, but it'd be fun as hell for a lot of players. I myself would love it since the Meteor event with Fishl is the most fun I've had in this game since release. just tackling waves of enemies with a full party was a blast. and as a Support player, I have little to no reason to actually PLAY supports outside of these kinds of events.

i hate the time-based system. it feels like mindlessly just going for more and more dps. and then you always shove your character into the same room and fight against enemies. my ideal endgame content would be to up the difficulty of some parts of genshins world. and put in some really hard sidequests. like i remember at a lower level fighting in that domain with like 4 robots in liyue. or on the island in liyue with 3 robots at the same time. or in that temple in liyue where you would constantly get frozen (yes it was time-based but it was also hard at that level) or in the underground temple in liyue. all in all liyue was kinda cool difficulty wise unlike inazuma which just felt like it didn't get any harder at all (or in fact easier. stuff just got tankier but there's nothing that really dishes out any damage). if they would go more into that direction and just give us some non-trivial bosses that have some different patterns, deal massive damage, have different effects. add some huge battles maybe with a horde of the most difficult 'normal' mobs you can find and throw them somewhere on the map with a huge chest or so. i know it's not infinite. you can do it and be done with it. but as long as they keep pushing harder and harder content eventually there'll come a time where even the biggest whales will struggle. maybe not now, maybe it'd be bearable till fontaine or natlan or so. but somewhere down the line.

It would make sense for this event to be a part of the story. Xinyan is a fun character that deserved some spotlight, and is excellent for giving some more lighter, heartwarming and comedic moments since the last archon quest and world quests have been so deep and eerie. Childe being in inazuma would also make sense. With the Fatui problems in Inazuma (of which i won’t spoil, but are pretty big in the archon quest) it’d make sense for them to send someone, especially someone who is already familiar with the traveler who is to blame for it all. It could’ve been so cool and they just made it a time limited side story to be forgotten…

The only thing about giving better rewards for the highest difficulty tho is that the great amount of f2p and casual players will complain about being too hard and not being able to get all the rewards. Remember the Legend of the Vagabond Sword event? That was hard and the comunnity went crazy about it? So regarding this issue, at this point, MHY has a dilemma, because they listen to a lot of complaints on either path they choose. I would like to have harder content with better rewards but is not easy to please such a diverse community.

PvP is just a straight no for this game. PvE heavily co-op focused content would be a nightmare due to the crappy server lag. Even doing a regular domain co-op gets a little questionable at times when you're watching one or two of the other players off in a corner attacking the air or having enemies randomly teleport. I highly doubt Mihoyo would be willing to invest more money into their servers or new data centers. As for good single player focused content, why not look at what other games have been doing for years? Diablo 3 implemented an endless dungeon with random enemies and a boss after a certain number of enemies were defeated. Couldn't this be done using the already available one-off domains we have no reason to return to? Add in some kind of leyline crap per floor like in the spiral abyss or give certain characters buffs on certain weeks if you want. Maybe have some rotating artifact sets and/or weapons have chance drops or a material that allows you to re-roll either main stats or sub stats on artifacts. Rotating drops could be a great way to keep people coming back to the content.

I'm 100% for roguelike elements. I also like dungeons, but would also eventually like a system that rewards wandering the open world, going wherever you feel like and finding some dynamically generated repeatable content. There's so much untapped potential there, that freeform wandering was a huge part of what got me into the game way back when it just released. If they apply the roguelike elements to this, that could be really fun.

The "dedicated" player base (that I pressune it's mostly pc users) seems pretty stupid if they're complaining about this tbh. They're judging a f2p-gacha-"mobile game" as a AAA $60 game. Let's remember that the game is in constant development and that mhy have a 10 year developement plan for it. The game is already very huge considering it's a f2p. So if the dedicated player who gets the 100% of exploration in less than a day want more content, well, before complaining they should be aware of all of this and not act like drama queens about smth that surely will happen but just not right now.

Its not conductive to this games life span if all they can do to keep people interested is silly little combat and puzzle events twice a month which is fine for the most casual of players, but its boring the hell out of everyone else. What you need to understand is that endgame content, or the endgame content that we aspire to, will not come on 2.2. At the very minimum it will arrive at 2.5, even so I believe it will come later than that. Endgame content is not easy to create, yes the game had a year to do this, this cannot be denied, but first and foremost, you need to understand this is not your typical MMORPG. This game was and is for a casual audience. Does the game have grindy elements? Of course, but in a way much more accesible to the casual player base. Is it a gacha? Yes, but unlike many other gacha games, you do not need a specific limited character to beat a level (which you cannot deny is something prominent on gacha games) and in this game you do not need the most powerful character/newest to completely beat the game or its content, we can see this with F2P runs completing Floor 12-3 with 36 stars. Would I like better endgame content? Yes, of course, but the way I see it, 2.2 might test the waters for new endgame content. You can even tell with the bosses, they are not hard at all and this is also an effect on the *spoiler* Childe boss fight we got back in 1.1, many complained the boss was to hard and it was nerfed to the ground (which was very easy before the nerf in my opinion) and new content has been that way as well. Even the big *spoiler* Raiden Shogun final battle which was... (again, in my opinion) lackluster. 2.2 and beyond (we can see the leaks) is giving a new light into new enemies, mechanics, builds and hopefully new permanent/endgame content for the more grind focus and hardcore player base.

Its funny that you say they are targeting casual players too when I'm now realizing from new player friends its anything but. Timegates on the game in regards to events being the main focus is not casual. Like Mihoyo is literally telling new players to rush all the way to Inazuma, raise their AR to like 50, and do all archon quests just to participate in events or miss out on something really good like say the tuna lord or festering desire? Some of my friends are locked out of Kazuha's event because they aren't even close to Inazuma and/or they are now rushing the archon quest. Other gachas I''ve played in regards to their events never force these many restrictions on the player in relation to timegating. Its even more baffling that Mihoyo's other IP, Tears of Themis doesn't have this issue with limited events.

I was so excited for Labyrinth Warriors due to Childe being back, that i totally missed the fact that this could be very well made into end-game content. Who knows, with the elements it's pretty similair to dungeons and maybe Mihoyo's trying to test something out. Imagine one day we could not only do domains and bosses as a team, but run around in dungeons for an hour or so and fight together and collect stuff. I think Genshin would seriously benefit from something like this. So many of my friends have quit, I'm only in 2.2 for Thoma and Childe, others stopped putting money into and there#s barely anyone asking me to play together in contrast to when I joined in April and everyone was into it. Nowadays I barely feel like much people outside of the game talk about it anymore when it used to be the opposite. It's just a dream, but I seriously hope one day we can get something good for end-game. When 2.3 comes and according to the leaks I'll get even more less active. It's literally just do your dailies, condense resin, get shit artfiacts 4-5 times, get some realm currency and bye.

I really don’t get the complaints about a lack of content at endgame. There are new events to play all the time, that’s our content. Sure, they are time limited, but there’s always new ones to follow, so you get new stuff to do every week or so. I’ve been playing since launch, and I think the amount of content has been quite acceptable, for the type of game Genshin is. I agree, rougelike dungeons are fun and all, but all you do is fight, and for people that isn't combat driven, modes like that gets boring pretty quickly As a honkai player, let me just say that Elysian Realm won't be fun for people that started playing for exploration and such. Elysian Realm is very grindy and heavily gear dependant, esp on the last stage where the refreshable rewards are. I'd prefer if they bring back windtrace and other windblume events. Maybe let us earn special currencies that can be traded for exp books, artifact exp bottles or even mora

Personally I think genshin needs proper co op content far more than it needs end game stuff, as getting help with domains and commissions isn't really needed after a certain point and I only keep co oping juat so I can spend time with my friends rather than because I need the help or because its more fun. Dedicated multiplayer/co op game modes is what genshin needs the most at this point as it will give everyone something to constantly come back to more than end game content that try hards and whales will devour within a week of its release than complain about after a month.

RedFlaim is absolutely right in saying that this is an event for casual players again, however, on the flip side, my friend is a casual player and can't even participate in the event bc he doesn't have the time or drive to slog through the entirety of the Inazuma quest line. This event is for casual players sure, but only really old casual players who have completed the game so far which seems to be an oxymoron.

2 things I want are: 1. Daily gifts you can give to your friends. Most Online games have gifting systems. Daily gifts could be like 1000-1500 Mora, or 3-5 Hero's Wit, or 7-10 Enhancement Ores at random. Max 30 gifts given and to receive per day. 2. Guilds. There's the Adventurer's Guild. Wouldn't it be fun to have domains similar to World Ascension domains. Where like 4 players have to stand on pressure plates together, go to separate paths and meet again in the boss battle, etc

Finally someone GI content creators talking about Elysia realm. They actually borrow Elysia realm for upcoming event, but nit making it permanently. In Elysia realm we can infinite amount try out to clear every difficulty. Signed are effected how we to clear each floor.

(Old Opinion) -Labyrinth Warriors is literally just another dull event where you simply set up your characters, quickly beat all the enemies while using whatever 1 new mechanic that makes these events feel "Distinct".- -And most of the time, it's just a mini Spiral Abyss since you'll have to beat them within a time limit.- -I'm getting very sick of them, I wished they could be more Unique but faithful enough to the element and combat system like Theater Mechanicus.- -I also really wish they created a Rogue-like Gamemode that you mentioned in the video. So I can ACTUALLY have fun using other party members, instead of being forced to use nothing but the Highest DPS characters.- UPDATE (21/10): So turns out this event doesn't have a time limit, which is nice. And it does give you activated abilities and Charms to use. But so far, the only real threats here are the Cursed Seals. Other than that, your Spiral Abyss Teams will STILL do just fine here. So it's nothing too special, yet. Edit: When I said "Nothing too special, yet", I meant to say that this event doesn't really encourage you to adjust your Main DPS team, or create new teams suited for these specific events. But since there's a bunch more events to go, we might get to make use of some new and fun Environmental Obstacles like those Domain flamethrowers. I'm excited for that. But I'm sorry this came out wrong, I didn't mean to say I'm too strong for these events to be fun, or this event is just a waste of my time. I'm actually enjoying this event a lot

idk but big damage/highest dps isnt everything? sure the big numbers show a sign of success in building a character and I'm not sure what your playstyle is but imo it seems like you're boxing urself in by saying that you're being forced to use highest dps? again my view could be different because i am a casual player

@@creamybunny_ I can see how Characters which provids Shields and heal your Team allow you to attack more frequently, but most of the time you're giving up a huge portion of your Damage output such that you become unable to kill bosses and enemies in time. I really hope Mihoyo will look into this and rebalanced them to make them more viable for these events. Because I think they're fun to use.

And this is why the community will never be happy. MHYO tries fun interesting events that don’t require fighting, “this event is lame, I want to fight stuff”. MHYO tries out a unique rogue like that requires you to fight, “ I want interesting events that don’t require fighting since I’m too strong”. The hell do you guys want then?!

I'm thinking of some kind of soul knight gameplay. The only thing affecting your gameplay would be the characters u have and whatever buffs u stack inside the game itself. At the start u choose 4 characters as ur party. They will all start at lvl 0, with a basic weapon (1* or 2*) and no artifacts. As u progress through the randomized dungeon they'll level up and then u can find chests with potentially better weapons/artifacts for ur team And of course monsters get stronger every level. Ur reward is calculated in primos by how far u went down (and ofc u keep ur mora from your lil massacre, which will likely be kept separate so that u can use mora u earned during the game in some shop system) or they can use some other currency for conversion. And like soul knight this can work in coop too. (Also go ahead and try soul knight its made by another Chinese company which specializes in roguelites It's really fun and there's constantly new updates with new weapons, areas for dungeon levels and gimmicks added.)

a mode i always wanted to see in genshin was something akin to the firefight mode in the halo series, just hold out as long as you can solo or with a 4 person squad, limited lives, or buffs/debuffs the host can choose.
