Riga and Sigulda are beautiful. I was there in October 2016 and found the food was good and the people really friendly and helpful once you started conversing with them. The hotel I stayed in was NZ$26.00 per night and included a great breakfast buffet. Hotel was across the river from downtown Riga, but a trolley bus ride of 15-20 minutes had me at the Centrala Statcja (Not sure on my spelling) and the public transport around Riga is really good.

Is this a silly idea? I've enjoyed your videos so much!... I started with the UK ones as I live there, and I've now gone back to the beginning and I'm working through them all. You are such a lovely couple, and so interested in travel. The videos are great. My thought was: if you come back to the UK, I have an idea for a day/2 days if you are in the York or Leeds area, based in Huddersfield, a former mill town in the West Riding of Yorkshire. There is a lovely walk round a reservoir on the edge of the moors, an Iron Age hill settlement overlooking the town, and some beautiful weavers cottages which is where families made their worsted cloth before the mills were built which took over production. I'd be happy to show you round, and take you to the local pub for lunch as a thank you for the pleasure your videos bring, and... we have a room if you need an overnight stay; meet our cat Stanley, who is adorable. Might not be something you want to do, but if I don't offer, you won't know... Thanks for reading. Michael (and Dot). michael.storry@btinternet.com

Yeah, what exactly do you mean? What can possibly be so dangerous in that sushi? Salmon? Rice? Cream cheese? Seaweed? This is not India where you can get an eternal diarrhea by simply eating food.

They won't stop anything, you will be able to take the same two bags for free, only bigger luggage bag you will need to leave in front of airplane (they will put stickers on it your ticket) and at destination when you will be getting out of plane your luggage will be there. They were already partly doing it this summer.

For these shorter trips why not go by train? Often quicker from centre to centre, sometimes cheaper, always a smaller carbon footprint and you get a much better view of changing landscape/architecture.

We actually really enjoy traveling by train for that very reason! But unfortunately flying was considerably cheaper for those dates and considerably faster 👍

As there is no no train from Berlin to Riga, flying is the best option. It will only be possible around 2030 when RailBaltica (direct railway line from Tallinn (Estonia) to Berlin) will be built and operational, connecting Baltics to rest of Europe.
