I also found your channel because of the blower. The ego line of tools is very interesting and apparently very controversial if you got such a wide range of comments. I think you did an amazing job getting it out of the car and it did scare a tiny bit because the steep angle. The best part about the blower video is that it was a pure non-biased review and that made it awesome. If you decide to get a mower they make those as well and they use the same battery as your blower i do believe. Great channel keep up the great videos and as hard as it is just ignore the crazy commenters. Back to watching the ice dam videos now.

I think you are doing a great job with your new channel. I am a 57 year old male (but not a bully lol), and I think my KZbin algorithm found your channel because I was researching how to repair my snow blower. So maybe some good came out of that video too. I subscribed because I instantly liked you upbeat cheerfulness and positivity. I also like the mission you are on, as I too would love to move up north someday. I think you are the only female channel I have subscribed to. All my other channels are very male orientated, so I was surprised when you ended up in my feed. Anyway, keep up the good work and don’t let the bullies get you down (I know, easy for me to sit here and to say that, not so easy to do).

Marie, the first video of yours that I ran across was the snowblower. Never gave any thought to why you chose what you chose. I was just thoroughly impressed with how you handled the situation and conditions and persevered on your own. I’m sorry to say I’m a male in that bully age range and I have absolutely no idea why anyone in that group would be a bully to you or anyone. Unfortunately, we live in a time when there is too much negativity and people are emboldened to be cruel because they are anonymous. I love your channel, I look forward to seeing your next videos, I’m glad to see you’re growing subscribers, I hope you continue and thrive, I think I will learn from your experiences and I’m happy I found you. I suspect you will continue to hear from the bullies and jerks and those with little self worth, but I hope you will disregard it all. Keep up the great work and positivity. Love your smile and attitude and enjoy watching your cats. Just lost my dog of 13 years so I understand how much they are a big part of everything you do. Thanks and congratulations on your quick growth!!

Marie, I think your channel is refreshing. It’s always nice when someone’s dream comes true. I hope you continue to enjoy your new home. It certainly a challenge living where you are and trying to keep up with the winter elements . battery powered equipment is certainly much easier to maintain than gasoline. The biggest drawback is the amount of run time compared to gasoline powered equipment. The best recommendation is to add additional battery packs . Keep smiling.

you are right about the extra batteries, I am looking at the ego mower for summer, the batteries are very expensive so I haven't bought an extra set of them yet. @@marieintheUP We live just west of Toledo on the Ohio/Michigan border. We are about 9 miles from Lake Erie and once in awhile get lake effect snows from there. Yesterday we had flurries that originated from Lake Huron. Once in awhile we get lake effect that originates from Lake Michigan. The last 2 years have been a bust snow wise. We have only just over 1'' so far this winter. If we get a meaningful snow here it is when low pressure from down south brings moisture from the gulf of Mexico up here in to the cold air. The historical average for Toledo is around 43''. The last big winter here was in 2013-14 with over 80'' of snow. The granddaddy of all snows here was the blizzard of January 1978. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Blizzard_of_1978 I am a snow lover and love shoveling, but am about to break down and by a snow blower. Congratulations on your growing channel Marie! Living in Michigan we have 2 types of retirement goals for most people. Those that want to move south and those of us who want to move north to retire. Your channel is a view into that northern world and you will be surprised how many people are in that group. Surely enough to make it worth monetizing in some form. I am nearing retirement age at 58 and like many am looking for a good property with or without a cabin, which would be fun to build actually. Something for 3 season use at least. Your videos are short and easy to watch where some others are longer drawn out and harder to watch to the end. Basically I think you might be at the start of a good part time job if you are inclined. Good luck with things and have a great week!

@marieintheUP17 күн бұрын
@@avlisk yes, i agree, it is so simple to keep it moving, no need to be mean about it! that is so smart to have those batteries for the fans when the power outages happen. @@marieintheUP The batteries were supposed to be for a van-build project that didn't happen when I moved here, so I repurposed them. Hi again, just watched the latest video this afternoon. So sorry that you are dealing with online trolls 😢 what's funny is i only because aware of your channel when that snowblower video popped up on my feed. I figured it was because I'm strange and enjoy watching snowblower videos and I follow other yooper channels 😂 I enjoy watching other people live the dream I someday wish to achieve myself! My only suggestion is that you might need additional batteries for the blower or someday convert to gas since it's a Big driveway and BIG time snowbelt region! I'd suggest going with an Ariens, quality machine made right down here in Brillon Wisconsin. 😊

hi Jason, its been so weird with the trolls but I found out how to filter out the threats, YT has great tools! I gained a lot of viewers from that ego video so it was mostly great and now i'm prepared for the future haters. it makes sense, snowblower and yooper, Ive. noticed a lot of other viewers are into snowblowers too! I would love an extra set of batteries, they are $1k and I am considering a ego lawn mower for the summer, so that would be a way to have an extra set. Ive heard amazing things about Ariens, a few others commented today about that being a really great sb. made in your hometown in WI? thats so cool! WI is beautiful, Ive spent some time there!

In the winter I watch snow plowing videos. In the summer I watch overgrown yard cleanups. Year round I watch off-road recovery videos. If you keep cranking out snow and outdoor adventures and house repair videos, you will keep me entertained and amused for life. The U P. has many waterfalls and touristy things to take in. Maybe it is just “old man shaking fist at cloud” stuff. I hope that I don’t become that bitter. Anyway, great channel.

Marie, congratulations on 2,500 subscribers. Now, don't tell anyone, but I ordered a Greenworks battery powered snow shovel shh don't say anything. I have a gas powered snowblower, but I wanted something to use for a small amount of snow. Have fun with your channel. I've seen other people who are cat owners take some blue painter's tape, and put it on the floor in the shape of a box large enough for a cat to sit in the middle of. Because cats like to sit in boxes, the cat will sit on the floor in the middle of the blue tape square. Congratulations again, and ignore the haters.

Hey Marie, Please ignore the haters and trolls. Some people are only happy when their miserable and need to share it with others. On the electric snow blower, those motors have a ton of torque, better than gas units. If I were in your snow shoes invest in some additional batteries to make sure you don't run out of power. Me: Subscriber, 61 years young, Not a hater or troll; however, everyone is entitled to my opinion! ;-P You just be you. Intelligent, articulate, personable, a successful young entrepreneur who can put a business plan together and help someone launch a startup, all admirable traits that are reflected in your mirror. The person that is so impressive to me, is the one who exhibits the strength of character to finish what she starts, has the ability to laugh at and with herself, and is just a plain old human being, trying her damnedest to just get by in this world. When I take the measure of a persons character, ethnicity, gender, orientation are almost useless as metrics, the way you treat your animals tells me everything I need to know about you as a person. I have questions for you! when you have time, please let me know what materials worked for you, did you screen it in your selves, find a company? @bobrodenkirch17 күн бұрын
We did it by ourselves. I’m 71 yr old retired (somewhat) retired carpenter. It’s actually an easy project. If you have a decent drill that can drill a 3/8” hole into concrete with a concrete bit. You then lay down your bottom 2x4 to where you want them to be on your slab next drill a hole through 2x4 into concrete maybe an 1 1/2” deep into concert and hammer a 3/8” lag into concrete every 4’ or so after bottom plate is down with a level plum up to ceiling and screw in top plate to match bottom plate. I bought a 36” w x 50’ long roll of pet screen pet screen is like 7x’s stronger than regular screen. I then spaced 2x4 ‘s studs at 34” apart and screwed to top and bottom plates and put a horizontal 2x4 at about 3’ off the deck just to help keep the walls straight then with a good stapler like a hammer type fasten screen to studs. If you need a door you can build one or buy a good wood door like a clear view wood door. After you’re done with putting on screen rip 1 1/2” strips to cover staples. Spend the extra money on cedar for all wood.
@bobrodenkirch17 күн бұрын
I looked back on a clip to show your deck and noticed that you have no concrete just a wood deck so forget my prior suggestion on concrete drilling etc just screw down your bottom plates with with 3” exterior screws and use the same screws on the rest of project
@marieintheUP16 күн бұрын
@@bobrodenkirch thank you for all this helpful advice! it sounds easier without concrete so I am glad I just have a wood deck, good to know about the cedar as well! Pretty darn sad that some have nothing better to do with their lives than to be hateful on some random channel. I watched because I love the U.P. And people who are genuine about their lives. Just do you and ignore the losers.

Marie, I figured the reason you started this channel was to reach out and share with people what you are experiencing, having never experienced life in this way before. Also, being in the UP can be rather isolated and having friends close by, at least in the early stages of living there, was non-existent. This was a way for you to start a new circle of friends and a way to get friendly advice to help you through some of things you were experiencing. You've touched many people with your experiences. Thank you for sharing and keep up the great work. Looking forward to the next installment. 😊
