I know this vid is over a year old, but I decided I wanted to use this deck awhile ago and it's always been sorta 50/50 on being successful. But after learning about the triangle from this vid, I've immediately gotten results. I no longer fear P.E.K.K.A.s and MKs anymore, and it's so satisfying to take them out.

It's sort of common (the triangle) but you never see anyone call it anything other than placements. He's right that this might help people remember the positions, canon, musketeer protected by an ice golem in a triangular shape.

One thing I've noticed is that using the log and ice spirit to defend hogs is a little better done if you separate the usage, because the time wasted for the hog overlaps if you use them at the same time. Even better is to log when the hog is mid-attack to waste the most amount of time and potentially negate a hit.

Awesome! Yea, 3 of the biggest things to learn with 2.6 are: Positive elixir trades (like taking down MKs with less elixir), out cycling your opponent’s defenses, etc., and spell chipping towers.

This Game was So good with the Cards before , you need skills to learn...the Goal was to get to hog mountain Good old days when the cards had good mechanics .. I wouldn't mind loosing to a skilled player hell even the old beatdown meta decks ..it used to make us learn from our mistakes and improve. . Now some cards are ruining C R . This is what I think.. for example Idk what the dev's were thinking.. Design mega knight and the card mechanics .which requires no skill to play it . And the new champions .. The game wasn't like ...this

I hope you can to. Please know that 2.6 (any cycle deck really) has a higher skill cap, so if you lose quite a bit, staying with it will benefit you in the long term. 2.6 has been proven and usually finishes top 50 every season. The more you play, the more you learn. GL 💪

Thanks for all the tips, you're an absolute legend, but I have a question. I started usung hog 2.6 once I got to arena 8, and of course, I don't have the log. So is the zap a good option or should I do something completely else instead of the zap?

Thanks for the comment! TBH, log is very important in 2.6, for tower chipping and knock back especially. Zap could be a decent substitute or barb barrel, but because barb barrel can’t reach the tower for chip, zap might be better. You should try to trade someone for log, if possible.

@ItzNeow it’s pretty simple. One of the best ways to get tokens, without buying them, is through the global tournament (on the events tab). It only happens a couple of times per season though. Once you have tokens you can simple requests trades in a clan

It’s soooo close. Ice spirit is realllllly good now, but so is the espirit. Me personally, only in 2.6 would I use ice spirit over espirit.

@@DougieDYT I tried the ice spirit but against certain match ups (mainly beat down to slow their pushes) the ice spirit gets a lot of value, but e spirit is better against zap bait, graveyard, miner bats cycle with wall breakers. I'm used to the e spirit so I'm gonna use that, I guess it's preference.

I would call myself a mediocre hog 2.6 player I’ve been playing the deck for almost a month and I would say I’ve got the hang of it 90% of my battles are wins my only problem is the choke sometimes

Yea, with 2.6 (really any cycle deck) it’s the micro placements/plays that are huge. 1 small mistake can make it super hard to recover but cycle decks 100% make you better at the game, so if you stick with them, you’ll certainly get better! Keep it up!

@@DougieDYT yeah I am sticking to cycle decks I am just training on an alt account so that I can start sooner on my main account later but yeah 1 small mistake could cost a huge amount of damage or even the game as for me I always match against level 11s (all of my cards in my deck are lvl 10) and they always have a overleveled mega knight which will cost me the game sometimes if I do not react really fast and cycle

Yup, that’s one of the hardest parts with 2.6, defending against big pushes/over leveled troops/over leveled players.

Tbh, log is super important in 2.6, for tower chip, pushing troops back to allow more time to defend against big pushes & keep your defending troops/cannon alive. Is there anyway you can find a clan mate to trade you a log? Log still stands as one of the best spells in the game.

For me, my favorites are hog cycle and pekka bridge spam, but out of those selections, I would go hog cycle, then bait, then loon. Loon is really good, I just feel bait always has its place in the meta. Hog cycle first because hog will likely never get nerfed, so it’s safe to max cards in hog cycle decks imo

Fireball, ice spirit is mainly used for it's freeze and the levels don't improve the freeze duration.

I would go FB, but do know maxed spirit is also valuable in 2.6 for tower chip. Some will let it go and with spell chipping being one of the fundamentals in 2.6, pretty important to be able to get it to the tower.

I used hog until i got ram rider, i got ram rider, used it and it worked for me. did all of arena 12 with it. Honestly a pretty good card. may be fun to try 2.8 Ram

Thank you! Is there any way you can trade for him? Ice golem in 2.6 is extremely valuable and I wouldn’t want to recommend an alternative that wouldn’t quite work. He is very versatile in the deck… cheap cycle, distraction, kiting troops for a positive elixir gain, etc. Also, he’s a building targeting troop so can’t be distracted by cards expect buildings which is why I wouldn’t recommend a sub like knight. Maybe you can try a different hog cycle deck. Assuming you’re pretty low on ladder still, so if you did want to practice is some, sub in knight. Remember, protecting the cannon and musketeer is super important and cycling hogs and spells. Chip, chip, chip 😃 GL!

As a hog one trick with 7.6k pb, i will be brutally honest and say that you arent a good 2.6 player. However, if you are a beginner, a lot of the advice is good especially like the triangle formation(triangle formation prevents giving spell value on both cannon and musketeer).

Thanks for the comment & certainly value your opinion, but there’s a difference in approach to game plan depending on where you are on ladder; therefore it leads to a different feel when teaching the deck. Decks seen at 7k+ range is way different than the craziness seen lower/mid ladder. I say that because (and I asked a pro player too), in some ways it’s easier higher up ladder because so many know who runs what deck and/or you play ppl that actually know how to play and are using “real” decks (meta decks), decks that have synergy etc. I would not consider myself an expert using 2.6, but know these things: positive elixir gains (kiting, taking out MK/pekka etc with skeletons/ice golem with help from cannon/musketeer), spell chip, out cycling defenses while cycling back to hog fast, protect musketeer & cannon is super important, space troops etc to minimize spell damage value (that goes for every deck). 2.6, imo, the way I’m going about it, is teaching the lower level/newer players how to take the next step in progressing (tbh, any cycle deck would help with that). What got them to, let’s say challenger 1, will no longer work (spamming ebarbs at the bridge, crossing fingers and hoping etc), 2.6 is a bridge to understanding the core fundamentals to get better. Gameplan is great, whats missing are placements, proper cycling technique, etc. With that said, I do understand that your target audience are beginners and I think you're doing a fine job. It’s not easy, but you have to put cycle it. Getting positive elixir trades and getting back to hog rider faster than your opponent can defend is key; using FB on the tower too. Ice spirit can also help reset the tower, but again, each match up is different just it just depends what you’re facing beyond inferno tower. Keep in mind 2.6 is a high skill deck. It’s all about spell chipping, positive elixir trades, cycling smart and fast, rinse and repeat.

2.6 takes so much practice, but if you stay with it and keep learning, it will pay off imo. Just remember 2.6 is about spell chipping on tower, positive elixir gains which allows you to cycle fats back to hog rider (out cycling opponents) to keep constant pressure.

It’s not meant to be high level gameplay, it’s meant for those learning/lower levels/lower arenas. One thing I try to do is bring content to help newer players learn basics etc. I use this account because it’s more relatable for them, this is what they’ll face, not higher level/skill. I do this in phases, as players get better, which is why I bring content on my main as well. Appreciate the comment, though.
