These can now be optioned with the new 600 mercs and will top out at 70 mph! That's bananas. Gets you offshore and fishing quickly, assuming you can swing the boat and fuel price.

Indeed the 600 Mercs are incredible, super quiet and smooth, virtually flat torque curve and duo prop lowers give acceleration like nothing else. Not cheap to run, but on a 3 million dollar boat, I don’t think that is too much of a worry to the owner 😀

I don't see $3000000 no matter how you look at it it's just a 53-foot fishing boat basically the cabinets and everything for that kind of money look very cheap

Thomas Reyes it’s much better up close. The cabinets are lined oak - same as an Azimut and definitely the same quality. Bear in mind her beam makes her a big boat. Massive propulsion, legacy systems for everything, Sea keeper, this one had a sport fly bridge all carbon which puts a big lump on the price. The dimming glass roof is the same you pay 3K for on a Benz with magic sky. The execution is all fantastic. Bear in mind the boat is built to be practical, very safe and very utilitarian and then think what you would want in the ultimate boat with that brief. It even has hydraulic fold down platforms with boarding ladders that make it great as a scuba dive launch. It does nearly 70 mph is built like a tank.... I think it’s fantastic

I understand your skepticism but there is far more worth in that boat than you can realize from a single video. Each engine is 35,000.00. The electronics in the boat is upwards of 35,000.00 to 40,000.00. Depending on the configuration, you can have over 250,000.00 in just engines and electronics. Then you have a diesel powered generator rated for salt water atmosphere and a 100gal tank, which all will run 5 days continuously. Then there is the Sea Keeper Gyro Stabilizer which runs around 48,000 for a 50ft boat. The Hydraulic platforms add a lot of money to the boat as well. Another missed point is you actually have a 52.5 ft hull with a full and half cabin as well a full shower and head, a complete kitchen as well and additionally a 3rd birth in the table conversion. You are cruising in a motel room with all the amenities. One last thing, this model has the Fly Bridge which further takes the price up. You do not realize how much boat you actually have when you buy one of these.

I want this boat but made by Formula. This is a beautiful capable rig but fit & finish is everything to me...I see clear gaps in moldings which begs what would I find behind panels?

It’s amazing how compromised the living space is by the center console design. Imagine a traditional 53 foot sport fisher and it’s ocean going capacity, internal amenities and electronics vs. this. And often for half the price. Amazing achievement in design and production, but very few will choose this option.

Erik Nuveen it’s a huge day boat with overnighting accommodation. More designed for the American market than Europe. Scout has had a full order book these boats and it does work beautifully in its purpose.

Interesting indeed. It is a beautiful design, just hard for me, who uses a day boat and loves to fish, to consider this over a sport fisher, but I applaud the effort and the success for Scout.

I disagree its purpose is a fishing and day boat with overnight accommodation for a family you want to be able to entertain your friends during the day on deck and in the open not under the cabin. With its fly brig and drop-down beach, platforms would make it a versatile and fun boat to entertain.

terry gaston ... a huge amount of money for a centre console. But in the same way a Bentley is a lot of money for a car. I love that boat builders have the cohones to build these boats. Most of Scout’s sales are boats under 30 feet and they show no favour to buyers of the bigger boats vs smaller. The 53 is an amazing boat and definitely worth a look over just for the exceptional amount of attention to detail.

thats the most over priced boat out there. I doubt they'll sell many. to compare it to a Bentley is a bit outrageous it's like trying to pawn a Buick as Rolls Royce, its no Riva. you're boat review is a bit suspect.

eric kim Scout have sold a significant amount of this boat. It is extremely well designed, detailed and engineered. Definitely not a Riva as you mentioned, but you would not take 10 guys 50 miles offshore to catch fish on a Riva. The interior is comparable to an Azimut rather than a Riva and she is built for Utility with speed and luxury in a class where very few blend all three as successfully. Hence the comparison to a Bentayga. It certainly is no Buick.

@@thebritishboatguy3130 I like that the cockpit can be fully enclosed in case of inclement weather. One of the very few CCs that have that feature. And it's very big with the glass going back at least 15 feet on each side plus rear seating for five. Very well-designed cockpit. I would opt for MTU diesels to 3000-3500hp. That would make sure fishing line wouldn't get tangled in the motors.

Everett Cox agreed, the cockpit enclosure is fantastic, full air condition and heated also. Also agreed, I would imaging a busy boat backing down on a big fish could be archaic, but with big diesels you can’t Beach it easily and you wouldn’t get so much space aft and it would significantly increase draft and you can’t get 7 year full warranties on diesels. It’s no comparison to a Viking in many respects but it is significantly more versatile as a day boat and a brilliant execution of thorough design and engineering stem to stern.

I've been enjoying various boat brands being shown on KZbin. I just can't get past the two gentlemen describing and demonstrating the features of this mega $2.7mil. boat. I couldn't watch the rest. No way would I be inspired to purchase this boat from either of them. The one representing the company couldn't sell a coffee maker to a caffeine addict. Amazing! What are the qualifications necessary to be employed by this company? Sorry, I really did try to watch this through........ Best of luck! Thanks!

Chris K thank you for your comment. I tend to agree as far the cost of the boat is concerned. It is however aimed at a boater whom probably has several boats, homes etc. Not a real world purchase. I will be reviewing a 10K pontoon boat tiki bar home build next month that is some of the best fun I have ever had on the water.

Chris K...glad you feel all better now that you beat someone up over the net. I've met several of the Scout team members including Alan that is in this video, they are all stand up people and extremely knowledgeable about their products. I know nothing about the person that made the video and can't speak on his behalf. I imagine this was a very impromptu interview, Scout clearly went out of their way to do this for a KZbin channel with so few subscribers (29) that I can see.

It is fantastic that boats of this calibre and innovation are being built and there certainly is a market and demand for them. Alan is also a highly knowledgable individual which is why he is Scouts sales director. With regards to what I can or cannot afford it is neither for you comment or perceive as far as I am concerned as you know nothing about me. A 3 million dollar purchase is not a real world purchase to most people and that is a fact. I can certainly comment that boat in question is neither overpriced nor overvalued considering its technology, quality, propulsion, build content and execution. I have not driven her, or know someone that owns one so I am not equipped to review this boat. What I can say is many people are moving away from large motor yachts to large centre consoles as they get you back on the water again.
