Hey, I happened to see this video while trying to lesrn how to box out effectively and used it in one of my games, but I got called for it. The ref said you "can't move your arms back to block the player from moving". Was the ref just wrong or is it really illegal?

Thank you for your question! You can NOT hook the player that is behind you by putting your arms around them but you can ABSOLUTELY put your arms back (hold them back) and touch the player behind you. As long as you were not hooking your arm around the person then the ref was 100% wrong. Keep doing what you are doing!!

@@ATTACKBballThere is no fundamentals in what’s he’s talking about. Any fundamentally sound team will always have at least 1 players getting back on defense, no team is having all 5 offensive players crash the class. Plus they are too close to the basket to properly box out and box away.
