When Nas raps, it’s to paint a picture, tell a story, or to drop knowledge. Wayne had a great verse, but Nas verse was different on purpose. Nas had various rhyme schemes, and various flows, but stayed true to the story he was telling without fillers. That is why he’s the goat. I believe it was GZA of Wu tang that said the “the Dumb are mostly intrigued by the Drum” Nas doesn’t like to ride the beat when he raps. Recommend listening to more Nas.

They both painted pictures. What made the picture wayne painted better than Nas in this song is wayne painted a very complete picture with also rapping the multi syllable scene and making every thing rhyme with “icons”

It’s obvious that Wayne was struggling to make his rhymes work. Most people who listen to this song won’t catch it on the first listen. I have listened to this song many times. I’m a fan of both Wayne and Nas. Wayne couldn’t match Nas nor was he trying to. Wayne’s was spitting that Cayenne, but as cool as “Dough like TaeKwon “ as well as a lot of other verses sounded, they are wasted bars.
