Looks like good times. Sounding better and better Christiaan. Would love to have been a fly on the wall with you and Antoine, though my French is a bit rusty. Thanks as always.

Lately I go back to the concept that you mentioned before: Every chord can be a temporary tonic chord (so while on Dmaj, one can create tension by playing Ddim or Dm6 as long as the solution is Dmaj). I love the freedom of movement it offers in comparison to traditional 2 5 1. And if Ddim substitutes the 5, then now all Ddim inversions and relative dominant chords (such as Db7 in your example) are just as good. Endless options... Thanks!!!

Yup, it's a liberating concept!

Hi Christiaan, could you perhaps do a video about transcribing? what you use etc and how you do it this might be really helpful for others to also learn that so they can play better

I'm sitting next to Antoine in the car right now and he says: "Thelonious is one of his inspirations"!

Just an observation but why is the fret marker or dot inlay on the 10th fret instead of the 9th? I don't believe I've ever seen that before.

That's the standard way selmac guitars are "dotted". I find it annoying, but I got used to it!

@@ChristiaanvanHemert That's the answer I anticipated but unless they were among the first, that makes no sense. I own several watches. The numbers are all where you'd expect and the hands all move in one direction - some things are best left alone. Thanks for getting back to me and you did a nice job on here. I must say (and should have done so earlier), there are several young players out there (Julian and Pasquale obviously among them) and this young man, Antoine. The future of the guitar is indeed in good hands and I'm more convinced than ever that med school would have been the correct and easier choice. Too late now.
