Let’s welcome baby human to the Mikey and Mia Family! Macaws and newborn babies sounds like a disaster right? We asked you guys what you wanted to know about how we manage a newborn with 2 large parrots so 2 birds 1 baby was created. To our surprise you guys asked a whole bunch of questions about us and the pregnancy too so covered that part of the story in the first 10mins of the video!

Animals know when it's your own child & react totally different from how they'd be with other people's kids. Your baby smells of the two people Mikey & Mia love the most so not surprised that they love her too. So proud of you breast feeding your sweet girl. I didn't want kids either & had lots of animals, fell pregnant & breast fed too. Always want the best for our babies if they come along 😊 Congratulations 🎉 You're such a beautiful family ❤

I am glad Mikey is ok now! After his flight accident, I wasn't sure how fast the poor guy could recover. I am very glad you compare having birds to having a child. Many people have taken birds into their home having no idea how much time and commitment they require. Also they don't just sit there looking pretty all day. They get into trouble if they are bored, they can get moody, they can throw tantrums. LOL So I thin that is why many birds go to rescues. It's great that you compare the 2 and let people know the level of responsibility and time they must give parrots. Your baby is beautiful! I am happy for your feather/human family! I am also glad you have awesome neighbors who enjoy your birds and don't mind them being free to fly. Give thanks for your blessings! :)

The rewards come later, if you thought seeing the birds learn was exciting you will be amazed at what that little girl will do. A personality appears so separate from you as parents that you are constantly surprised. These early months are difficult and exhausting and it’s a huge adjustment but gets WAY easier in a way that birds do not. I think you have managed amazingly so far and she is very beautiful ❤

What an absolutely wonderful video. Your little girl is beautiful! Yes, having a new little human can be challenging at first. There is so much to learn, absorb, and adjust to. But, it is all well worth it. I can't believe how much you have done preparing for her arrival. Bought a house, reworked the backyard, the new fence, and you got married, all while awaiting the arrival of Baby Hunam. I'd say you have done more in a few months than many do in years. Aaww she's totally gorgeous. Two things I'd like to pass on from one mum to another (and dad) when baby human gets older....when learning to drink out of a cup, do it in the bath!!! When you need to leave a park, play tag, it, touch....(whatever you call it) and run towards the gate or car!!! It's the best way to get your kid out without the tears. I'm so happy for you and jealous, as my 19yr old son has just moved to uni. He's the best thing ever and I love being a mum, like you I wasn't gonna have any kid but 2 months early and 2lb 13oz, he changed my world.

The nice thing is that the mackaws had enough life expectancy that your daughter and they will grow up together like siblings. She will not have to experience the loss of a "sibling" (like a dog or a cat) when she reaches her teenage years.

Mummy human is a superhero! What a lovely family you're making, even if unexpected - you both deserve great things ❤ I had my own baby human this January and my tiny parrot finally met him at 4m. I'm trying to get them to know each other cause she's quite old now, 15 years we think. We live far and it was so cool to see them together! Being a few months ahead of your baby human, when she's more active it'll probably be more challenging to jungle them all, but maybe Mikey will be more chill with her by then, the fact you still love them and pay attention to them equally will help him feel more secure and happy I think. Even though we're strangers on the internet I"m so happy for you guys.

We raised our son with 4 parrots including one large macaw in the flock. We were very careful that our toddler wasn’t ever able to reach out to the birds unsupervised. Baby’s are easier than toddler stage. I’ll never forget our macaw waving at our son who was still crawling. My severe macaw would sit on my belly and regurgitate before the baby was born. Warp speed family she was clearly meant to be here. Congratulations.
