There’s been so many unsuspicious deaths/drowning at this lake since the 1990s idk how it’s still open to the public or why they still let people swim in it. Plus the water is nasty to and so warm. From a lot of Shaman in the Hmong culture who done ritual traditions for the deceased who lost their lives here, The place is said to be haunted and run by a lot of loose spirits that’s why there are so many unsuspicious deaths/drownings. There was a case in 1996 or 1997 where a Hmong family was searching for their son because he hadn’t return from going to pour out the tiny baby fishes he caught earlier that day back in the water before they leave home, most of the baby fishes were dead. They went on a search for him and a relative even jumped back into the water to swim around looking for him incase he drown and after searching for awhile, they finally found him under a shallow area of water and he had seaweed all tangled up around him. It was kind of odd because the area he was found in wasn’t steep nor deep enough for him to drown in and the bucket he had the fish in was near him to. What’s weird to was that he had two tiny holes on the side of his neck but it was never determined if it were a bite or not. During his funeral a shaman had done some ritual(ua neeg) for the deceased child and he had revealed that the water spirits(dragons) was angry that the child killed so many of their children (the baby fishes) so they took his life in retaliation. There was another case where a Hmong teenager went missing in the water when he and his friends decided to swim across the lake together. His friends made it but he didn’t. They couldn’t find his body. The family reached out to a shaman who also did a shamanism ritual on the teenager and revealed that the water spirits had pulled him down into the water because he and his friends were disturbing their peace and water. What’s more crazy was when they found his body, he had red line markings on his back arm and legs! Hopefully they shut this place down because it isn’t safe especially for children

I know Avocado Lake used to be a safe lake to swim in back in the 70s. I had a Union Job back in 1980 where the plant was shutdown for one week. That summer 7 other co workers and I had a barbecue and would swim in that lake, then play football in the water. We survived. Today it would be too dangerous to attempt something like that in the water.

The reason why is so dangerous. Is the electricity the runs over the water.

I agree back in the 90s my brother and I was just fishing for blue gells before the beach was even there. I got my hook stuck in some weeds and went in to the water and feel my body lost control dizziness.

Have people not learned by now that avocado lake is not safe? The only thing you can safely do there is fish. I never go swimming there

Why does avocado lake has so many deaths due to drowning ?
@gemini-mg6sc Жыл бұрын
Apparently there is some underwater vines there. Once your feet gets tangled with these vines, it's game over.
