I remember when it came out - I was driving with some homegirls and homebody’s and was trying everything 2 hold back the tears but while they was hearing it … they all said “ it’s alright Monique “ without seeing me trying to hold it back… they knew this one hit me - atleast a lot of the verses. Out at 14 almost 15 years old on my own bc of shit. Not that I wanted to. And I was a good student … but that gin makes some ppl sin - they don’t see the person in front of them is there own daughter . The man that’s supposed to protect. So mama crying and packed bags … moving in with my older sister where when looking back … how I’m even alive now at 33 is a blessing . But a lot of time behind the walls and then deported for 10 to life back to Sweden … it’s been 10 now. Homesick like crazy !!!! But I ain’t going to lie … scared and nervous of filing for a visit visa through my oldest sister still in Houston . Worried that I get denied . My other older sister . That I moved into so I wouldn’t keep getting hurt / mama was worried of having to make funeral plans bc of that gin & mix of other shit from him. She got deported also after me but only 2 years . I say him ^ up there. Bc that’s not the man:dad . I was used to having @ at young ( even though he was gone alot bc of work - which I respect him for ) But now decade almost later - now he’s my dad again… beat the demons he had . And I see now he was going through a lot with the world on his shoulders us being immigrants to the states and him building a whole import / export world wide shipping business at young age . With three daughters and a wife . He saw me as a son. Never even raised his hand to my mama. 🙏🏽🙏🏽 but then again I remember at @6 standing in front of my mama telling him “ DONT YELL AT MY MAMA LIKE THAT !!! “ … it got me thrown in a wall🙄 . But he said now all that struggle and shit ain’t an excuse for how he did me . But now I thank him. He made me strong as hell!! Book & extremely street smart even though I’ve been stabbed . r***. And things ppl in Sweden first thought “ id watched to many movies” till my sister checked thier ass. Sorry that was a lot - coping and pasting in my notea thing since I get interviewed about things now. Music & actually my own dad wants me to start a podcast / KZbin about it all .
