I have not commented nor have I pressed the Like button but I now want to say how much these studies have benefitted me. FYI I finished First and Second Kings and hope to continue after finishing Second Chronicles.....Ican't believe our God loves us so much and is so patient-This is what I got out of Kings. My heart is so full when I think of his forbearance....May all viewers be as blessed as I have been and more...

At one time, I didn't see the grace of God in the Old Testament. Thank you for being a vessel to help me see the grace of God all the way through the Bible.

I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today is December 26. Today is the Festival of St. Stephen, Deacon & Martyr. 2 Chronicles 24:17-22 is usually read as an Old Testament Lesson on this day. And here is hoping that everyone reading this had a Merry Christmas and has a Blessed and Happy New Year.

Thanks Pastor Paul. You almost have to draw a family tree to keep track of who's who in these chapters. I was trying to figure out how Jehoshabeath is related to Joash, the child that she saved from Athaliah's murder spree. Verse 22:10 says that Athaliah was the mother of Ahaziah and since Joash was the son of Ahaziah, that would make Joash the grandson of Athaliah. So Athaliah's spree involved murdering all her grandsons. In verse 22:11, it says Jehoshabeath is the sister of Ahaziah so that would make Joash (son of Ahaziah) her nephew. And it would make Athaliah her step-mother. I think that's right...But then we see later in chapter 24 that Joash winds up killing her (Jehoshabeath's) son (step-son?) (Zechariah). What a rotten thing to do after having saved his -ss from his own grandmother!

Can you explain why the KJV has Ahaziah’s age as 42 when he began to reign? I’ve heard arguments trying to prove contradictions in the Bible because 2 Kings 8:26 shows his age as 22. My ESV translation has matching ages, but not the KJV.
