I tried to buy this when it was in Baton Rouge,the old man that owned it ran across I10 and up and down I35 he pulled a covered wagon ,the dealer where it was at replaced a bunch of the hose’s I used to see this truck all over texas and Oklahoma

What years was that? It looks like someone in the recent past has replaced most if not all of the air and oil lines. I think my friends grandpa ran it till the late 80s early 90s before selling it. Since then it couldn't have done much. Nothing has changed on it. It came to Minnesota here about 3 years ago after it was bought on an auction down in Baton Rouge if I remember correctly.

The K W. is a very rare old cab wide nose factory truck. One of the last made old cab as .most 1964 had the new cab. It's all factory as that hood is a factory item The Pete is an early 72 as it has the newer Red Dot A C roof condenser. But later 72 had the front fender braces on the very front of fenders that go to current day. 1972 was last year of older Pete cab Very interesting old trucjks Best of my knowledge NTA was first available late 1970 or early 1971 with up to 420 hp rating

I think the build date was Oct Nov of 71 on the tag. My 67 has a nta 400. Smokes like a steam train just idling lol. Ran her for years and people would complain of course lol. Good info bud, thank you!

The hot rod Cummins of the 1960ies was a NTC 380 which was basically a 2300 rpm 335. After cooled engines for Cummins came on the scene in 1970 with the introduction of the NTC 3⁵0

Oh gosh . My dad had a 69 Pete with a 335 and out one of those ice box after coolers on it and boosted it to a 350. Was called a Cummins marine after. Cooler and didn't leak like the others did. Most 380 didn't have an after cooler. Small world lol

The air cleaner is interesting for a southern truck. They actually had a plate under the top intake you could turn so the air would come from the warmer engine compartment. Lots of Canadian trucks had them.

Given the time frame and the fact he ran flatbed it very likely could have done some hauling up in Alaska on the Trans Pipeline. I knew several old timers that went up there just to haul the pipe. Anyway that could explain the Canadian intake.
