But the trinity doctrine says that the Spirit is an independent 3rd person that can not be the father (Lord in hebrew). It cant be both.

@@ThisRedeemedLife ILL stick with the words of Yhwh and the 1st commandment. You can follow the antichrist of Rome. A false christ claiming to be the Almighty in the flesh. An abomination.

So which Lord is the Spirit? The Father or the Son? It has to be one or the other right? Doesn't the Trinity doctrine say that the Father is not the Son, that the Son is not the Father, that the Father is not the Spirit, that the Spirit is not the Father, that the Son is not the Spirit and that the Spirit is not the Son? So why does Paul say that "the Lord is the Spirit"?

Hi! This is a great question and it is awesome to see this kind of intrigue. You are correct, the Father is not the Son, the Son is not the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit is not the Father, etc. etc. However, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are ALL God! God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. One God in three persons. According to the Ancient Hebrew Research Center, "When the word “lord” is written in all upper case letters (LORD), the Hebrew behind this word is the name of God" (Benner, n.d. para. 7). If you want to read a little more on this, here is the link I referenced: www.ancient-hebrew.org/god-yhwh/difference-between-lord-Lord-and-LORD.htm#:~:text=When%20the%20word%20%E2%80%9Clord%E2%80%9D%20is,God%2C%20%D7%99%D7%94%D7%95%D7%94%20(YHWH).&text=In%20this%20verse%20Hebrew%20phrase,which%20transliterates%20as%3B%20Adonai%20YHWH. So, when Paul is discussing, "Now the Lord is the Spirit..." in this verse, He is referring to God in the person of the Holy Spirit.

@@ThisRedeemedLife I was surprised to find a reply to my post! Yes, in scripture LORD refers to Yahweh and Lord to Jesus, as in Ps 110.1: "The LORD said to my lord" We therefore have two Lords here and Paul can only be referring to one of them, either the Father (Yahweh) or the son (Jesus), but which one? If it is the Father then Paul is saying that "the Father is the Spirit) and if it is the son Paul is saying that "the son is the Spirit." In both case this equates to Paul saying either that "the Father is the Spirit" or "the son is the Spirit", which contradicts the Trinity doctrine. To further prove my point, in 1 Corinthians 8.6 we read "", this strongly highlights the distinction made between God and Jesus; doesn't this mean that Jesus is not God? In your reply you say "Paul is referring to God in the person of the Holy Spirit.", what are you saying exactly? Is God a generic term (Father or Son or Spirit) in your belief system? If so, what do you make if 1 Corinthians 8.6 where is states that we have God and we have Jesus?

@@radicalunitarian The Father is spirit, the Word/ Son is spirit, and the Holy Ghost is spirit who contains 7 Spirits Isaiah 11 : 2. " now the Lord is spirit" means Jesus, and the Spirit of the Lord means one folder of the Holy Ghost. And I Cor 8 : 6, and Psalm 110 : 1 were declaring that both the Word and the 7 Spirits are from God the Father, and both of them are considered God too. Gbu

2 Corinthians 3 New International Version 3 Are we beginning to commend ourselves(A) again? Or do we need, like some people, letters of recommendation(B) to you or from you? 2 You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone.(C) 3 You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God,(D) not on tablets of stone(E) but on tablets of human hearts.(F) 4 Such confidence(G) we have through Christ before God. 5 Not that we are competent in ourselves(H) to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God.(I) 6 He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant(J)-not of the letter(K) but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.(L) The Greater Glory of the New Covenant 7 Now if the ministry that brought death,(M) which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory,(N) transitory though it was, 8 will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious? 9 If the ministry that brought condemnation(O) was glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness!(P) 10 For what was glorious has no glory now in comparison with the surpassing glory. 11 And if what was transitory came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which lasts! 12 Therefore, since we have such a hope,(Q) we are very bold.(R) 13 We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face(S) to prevent the Israelites from seeing the end of what was passing away. 14 But their minds were made dull,(T) for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant(U) is read.(V) It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. 15 Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. 16 But whenever anyone turns to the Lord,(W) the veil is taken away.(X) 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit,(Y) and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.(Z) 18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate[a](AA) the Lord’s glory,(AB) are being transformed into his image(AC) with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
